I've only had two good "School Teachers" in my life.

I'm not sure if the rest didn't care about Education because they weren't payed enough or because they were just lazy/dumb.

They probably thought I was a jock, and nobody offered to mentor me. I also had disciplinary issues, and that probably put them off too. So, based on my own experience, I could not care less what they make.

however, they are an essential part of our infrastructure, so we need to figure out how to make them be a more productive part of our society.

Funny thing about me having discipline issues in school. I'm probably the only member of my family ever to have them. My parents and grandparents and great-grandparents were all model students. So were my siblings.

My mom was always involved with PTA. Whenever my teachers found out that I was her kid, they could never believe it. ::) ;D

Oh well, my younger brother was every teacher's favorite. So they'd talk about him. ::) ;D

I never thought of it as rebelling. Some people probably categorized me as one, but it's probably just a matter of temperament.
