I wonder how that number looks split between the corporations and small business.  I bet the .6% goes bye bye.  Just a hunch.

Joe this is one of the funniest threads I've read in awhile

You truly do suck at spelling which is why you should use spell check

What we're heading into is stagflation which is the worst of all worlds

People that have jobs, secure ones, don't really care if the economy is in a recession.  BFD  And the .6 % rise is as about impressive as the 2007 Miami Dolphins.

What most people are concerned about is:

Rising gas prices
Sinking housing prices

And how we got into this mess and how our the current leadership helped us get there and how the new leadership will get us out of it.

.6% "growth" in GDP is considered a negative number when normal 1% population growth is added to the equation.

1.0% GDP is considered the break even number. any number under 1.0 is in the RED.

BTW, the US is in a recession, your spin will not help.

joeloco, stick to training fatties.

NT

So the people who think .6% is a sign of a growing economy and that there is no recession are ignorant dumb asses?

You didn't read my post did you? I said everyone who thought we were in a recession was incorrect, I said it grew SLOWLY. Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just made it an issue because no one on here would have been able to admit they were wrong.

Did you read what i wrote before that?

And the post you just responded to is a response to what NT said.

Did you read what he said?

After you do all of that put it all in perspective.  Unless NT is completely wrong, .6% doesn't matter.

It's as if, you are grasping for things to avoid certain realities that can be blamed on the current leadership.  You don't need to go that far, to make Dems look bad.  they are capable of it all on their own.

Stagflation is a killer.

And it definitely looks like we're heading for it. The huge budget deficits during Bush certainly created no room for economic boosts when the economy is going to shitters.

He'll retire to his South American farm and the rest of you will be fcuked.

Nice.

On CNBC's "Squawk Box" Warren Buffett told Joe Kernen, Becky Quick, Carl Quintanilla and Steve Liesman that he thought the country was in a recession, even if economists weren't quite ready to label it as such:

Warren Buffett : "Yeah, I think we're in a recession. It is defined in a certain way by the national bureau of economic research. But I think it's defined by the man on the street differently than whether there have been two quarters of reported growth. Incidentally, when growth is below 1% per a year, it's really falling on a per capita basis because our population increases about 1%. Even though the national bureau uses an absolute figure, if it's up .1 % they don't count that as a recessionary quarter. We are in a recession unless you want to stick strictly to the technical definition which I don't think has much meaning to the fellow who's lost his job or who's facing a money market fund that isn't paying."

joeloco, i'm sure you understand economics better than i, or warren buffett.  ::)

clearly your "economic commentary" is amateurish and uninformed. please keep your misinformation to yourself, as it helps no one in this forum.

NT

It's Getbig. Of course Joe knows more about economics than a man worth $62 billion.

That is 1% population growth per year, not per quarter.

Damn..I'm at work 12 hours a day and my wife get a peeved if I'm on here at night, I'm trying to cut it down.

BTW, from what I understand the true definition of a reCession is when you have 2 consecutive quarters in the negetive. We haven't had that.
