As a representative for the sport he would be so much better than Cutler the human fridge, Dexter the ninja turtle, Martinez the steroid dealer and heath another shaved head short man.  Gunther is tall, good looking, huge, great smile, beautiful wife, great hair, well spoken this guy has it all.  I mean whenever I show a magazine or video to anyone that is not interested in bodybuilding be it your local college chick or joe schmoe off the street and they see Gunther they are like wow this guy is impressive.  The other guys are just criticized as being ugly short freaks.  Just look at him below he looked great here:

It would be cool if GUNTER (not Gunther) made a comeback. We need more tall bb'ers...

Well, Jay Cutler is as blocky as you get and he is Mr. O.  Gunter looks better in my opinion and he is bigger too.

Gunther could do well, but seriously why would he want to.  He progressing on to new ventures and making money.  Going back to BB would  be a regression.  Give him his props and move on.

Winning the Mr. Olympia could only help him in these new ventures he is a bodybuilder above all and the Mr. Olympia is the ultimate goal why not reach it if in reality he can with no Ron Coleman in his way who can stop him.  Gutler the fridge does not look better.  ::)  What new ventures are you talking about anyways?  What is he doing right now?

if he's not representing the sport more than any other top 15 pro who has never won the olympia (and from what i've seen, he's not), how do you think he will suddenly become the embassador for bbing? takes more than winning an olympia to call urself a great representative for the sport.

i've always liked Gunter, I met him once at the Bodyrock, he was really friendly and well spoken.

I remember all the girls were flocking to him.

For a tall guy he's done well filling out his physique!

Top five is realistic.

i doubt that,,most bbers coming back from a long break they never do well again and eventually end up quiting soon as they realize how advanced the sport has gone and how strong the new commers are.

Gunter last competed in 2006 so this year will be 2 years since he last competed and he is still relatively young. There are basically only two new guys since he stopped competing Dennis Wolf and Phil Heath.  They are tough competition but Gunter is a tall, filled out, huge, good looking bodybuilder.

He is probably making more money now than at any time during his BB career.

he doesn't have to diet down, train as hard and take as much gear...why come back?  :-\

Gunter at his peak is very hard to beat, he showed that at the GNC 2002.
It's just a matter of him wanting it.

That was 6 long years ago, and he's 38.
is not like Arnold coming back after 5 years at a tender age of 33....

No way. The genetics of these guys far out shine his pure size. Can he beat Jay, Dexter, Victor, Phil, Kai, Dennis, Melvin...no way in hell. Top 10 finisher though.

If he didn't tear both quads at the teardrop, he'd have had a shot. He was finished (as far as winning an O) after that.

Those German speaking bodybuilders just seem to do well at promoting the "sport."   :D

Gunter has an ideal image and the kind of impressive "big/tall man physique" that just leaves fans in awe even walking around in clothes, off stage. I disagree with everyone saying Jay Cutler is "blocky". He is wide as a barn and has an excellent taper with a tight waist and good abs when in contest shape. Jay is great with the crowd and is a fan favorite.
