to bodybuilding probably

some people believe that bodybuilders will lie about their illnesses.
Either they only had a 1% chance of recovery from a heart attack/kidney ailment which was genetic and TOTALLY not related to BBing, or they will have a staph infection from dirty needles/colitisis from sponsor parties and downplay it.

Coach specifically mentioned the "NFL"....so I would be led to believe he was referring to the IFBB or FLEX mag. Both of which have made entire articles chronicling the deaths/ physical ailments of past IFBB pro's i.e. TP, Don LOng, Flex W, deaths, etc....
which leads me back to my original question...

The FLEX article on Tom Prince was actually a good read. They even listed the symptoms of kidney failure, which was a good idea.

I guess we'll have to wait for the Coach to clarify what he meant....If he's implying the sport or the IFBB has tried to keep similiar events quiet...I would strongly disagree.

Athletes lie all the time in every sport. Plaxico Burress played his rookie season with a broken hand cause he didn't want to lose playing time.
I haven't seen any evidence of any illnesses/injuries being fudged in any official capacity in Bbing. Do the bodybuilders lie? Sure. Ninja attacks and the 'flu' which magically covers everything from bad needles to anal army men. never seen the company lie.
-
damn, its gonna be quite a career for him, but just like a few athletes who had the same type of diabetes like him, he'll come along fine. I hope he plays another 6 or 7 yrs

I don't know of any other pro football diabetics. I suppose it would not hinder his performance too much accept he will have a hard time eating like a football player.

I never read those articles because I rarely if at all read BBing mags. But Chick, truthfully.......knowing the rapent use of insulin in throughout the industry, do actually think that someone is going to come forward let alone write an article if they did have diabetes because of insulin use?
-

Couldn't tell you...I don't know of anyone who has diabetes from it. I believe Don Youngblood may have become one befor his death, but I'm not 100% of that....
Bottom line is, the IFBB/ Flex mag has never tried to keep any health issues secret....

I realize that about other health issues, they have wrote about that, no disagreement there. But it might be a good idea to make light of the insulin usage and it's effects or possible effects. Do you agree?

I guess if we see a widespread problem...it would be addressed.

So you apparently know of some pros who are diabetic due to insulin. Spill it.
-

The industry officials don't see a wide spread problem???????

LOL, "the coach" is just drunk and tryin to show off. He don't know shit.
-

None that have or would admit it. So no, I guess I don't know any. But my question is.....would they admit it if they knew?
-

Not you again ::)
No....I'm not drunk, give it up.

Where we going with this?
It's a no win senario for any BB that might happen to be a diabetic, or become diabetic. Maybe Jay Cutler the football player was taking insulin? How the hell would we know? Just as there are circumstances behind him being diagnosed....there could very well be the same for a BB.
-

Don't know but if it happened with any regularity it would come out one way or another. I know you hate insulin but we aren't seeing widespread problems despite rampant abuse of it.
-
I believe Don Youngblood may have become one befor his death, but I'm not 100% of that....
Edit, read wrong.
-
Wasn't it Don Youngblood who became diabetic?
Don Long

Must have been the Gh and slin.....
-
It's hypocritial to be 'for' steroids but 'against' insulin.
It's unnecessary chemicals they shoot into their body to look better.
It's all in the same boat. They don't need test, they don't need GH, they don't need insulin. It's all elective, done to improve physique. IMO, if you follow BBing, just be cool with all of it. When you say "AAS is perfectly fine (I do it myself) yet anyone who uses insulin is wrong", it's just not a strong argument.
