true love, in my definition (at this time), is a loving of a person's mind (or 'spirit') and body in perfect balance, moreso than anyone else at that particular time (i don't believe in soul mates).
lust, by my definition, is a love of only one part of the mind or body and isnt continuous, for example, after sex, the lust disappears until hormone levels are back to normal.
now, with 'true' love being a perfect balance of the love for a person's mind and body together, the assumption is that once either the mind or the body changes (e.g. lost both legs or face mangled badly), that the love would lessen due to the imbalance of the mind:body connection. therefore, this would either turn into lust (mostly if their mind alters and body stays the same) or the loss of true love altogether, which i find sad, as true love is meant to be everlasting.
does anyone agree or disagree with my definition of true love, or have brrn in love and had the partner change in some way (physically or mentally) and fell out of love because of that? seems true love isnt as everlasting as some would make it seem, yet im sure there are those who would stick with their partner if they were disfigured physically or mentally, yet i doubt most under 40 would. doesnt mean its wrong or mean to do that, just means that they no longer match your ideal of true love. id like to hear ur opinions on what is true love

True Love IS all that it is cracked up to be and more. The challenge is most do not recognize true love,
...while others mistakenly perceive the emotion of lust or chemically induced infatuation as being true love.
True Love flows from the creator, ...it is an endless river which, if we allow it to, will bless our lives to overflowing.
Below are 3 separate definitions, each essentially saying the same thing.
Perhaps the phrasing or analogies drawn in one or more of them may provide a different perspect,
or possibly strike a chord or two of agreement, recognition, or understanding. :)

the first definition is one that i understand the most, so if they're all saying the same thing, i assume the basis for allowing true love to exist and grow is to treat the person with the loving qualities as a regular person and not anymore special, whilst allowing their qualities to flow subtely into your being, therefore creating a stronger individuals as a whole and a stronger couple, as both will (or should) essentially feel that the other has the same 'type of' qualities. so the relationship is built on accepting the qualities of the other, loving the qualities, but not being so infatuated to the point of where you forget to love the person for their qualities, and mistakenly love the person for the feeling of feeling love.
would that be an accurate representation of the definitions shown by yourself?

true love is all it's cracked up to be when it's allowed to be pure and accepted as an ever changing emotion

Yes! True love is real! I am experiencing it right now!
-
the main thing i am asking here is - does true love exceed ANY physical changes?
for example, a man losing both legs or becoming a quadraplegic - would you still truly love him as you did before?
vice verca for women

True Love does exceed physical changes ie: Christopher & Dana Reeves
