Since Bob has retired he wants other bodybuilders who are over 40 like him to retire as well. Why can't he let Ronnie and Cormier compete and have fun? Please do not give the excuse "it will hurt their image" because like Lee Priest said "...we are bodybuilders not NBA stars...". No one cares about it image too much when we have grapefruit lovers winning shows.
Bob- Please let the older guys who are better bodybuilders than you (as both Ronnie and Cormier are and were to this day) go on and do their thing! Thanks!
-
Because he realizes that any contests they enter (and lose) from here on out will just taint their reputations and pro bodybuilding records. If Ronnie comes back, it will just make him look stupid and will tarnish his 8 Olympia wins in a row.

I've never made one comment as to Chris hanging it up...
As for Ronnie...call me crazy, but I think there is more to lose than to gain at this point in his career...nothing more to prove, place solidified in history.

Actually, Bob would beat BOTH Cormier and Ronnie right now....their triceps injuries are THAT BAD

Um....thanks....I think. ;D

Chick...speaking in terms of Now...no disrespect intended to the other guys....they seem past their primes...and just a short 2 years ago, upon your win in the masters, you were at your best ever.

Both you Dan were pushing him on the radio show to retire. Do you deny this as well?

What kind of pension does the IFBB have? What are the benefits of retiring?

None?

Asking relevant questions is hardly pushing him into retirement....
HE made reference as to "going out the right way"....I asked him when exactly that time would be?
LISTEN......

Well....being that it isn't run like a company that employs workers, you get two things when you "retire"....jack and shit.

Non Profit Org = No Tax = IFBB = No benefits. ::)

Your bodybuilding worth is all based on your marketability. What a sponsor is willing to pay you. If you burn out looking like shit you'll end up selling your used underwear like Nasser. Shawn Ray went out in top form and despite being a very unlikable person still has a contract.

Agreed, Ronnie will go down in history as the greatest bodybuilder ever, it wouldnt' make any sense to come in looking all messed up with tears and injuries that become more noticeable with age..+ he's made a shitload of money so I dont see that being a reason to keep showing up in subpar shape. :'(

Did Sergio gain popularity or lose some when he came back in the 80's?
-
He was popular....but in no way like he was in the late 60's early 70's.
