Title: Best Exercises...
Post by: The_Shadow on May 09, 2008, 03:20:04 PM
To get full round delts? A typical w/o is:

standing military
dumbell press
upright rows
side laterls
reverse pec dec

I do switch it up when it comes to movements and rep ranges but still my
shoulders have size but not much shape. Genetics?? ???

i like ending a delt workout with some one arm cable side laterals. moderate weight, nice and slow, brings them out for me

upright rows worked great for me but they screwed up my shoulders in the long run, I always had great results with rock bottom dips. Another question would be what your bodyfat% is, if its high right now your delts arent really gonna show much shape anyways. hope that helps some

this philosophy of "hit it from every angle" is crap in my experience. i used to kill 'em from all sides and they started to lag. TWO WEEKS of amping back my shoulder volume and i swear i can see a difference, and not only that but my shoulder press strength is significantly up.

whats your routine look like now magoo?

i hit my shoulders directly with a whopping two exercises: militaries of some kind on friday and three sets of side or rear raises on tuesday.

if you look at my log, the most i was doing for standing militaries was 135x8. a week ago i got 155 for two sets of almost easy six (actually i think one was 8 there, i'm too lazy to check). i tried barbell BTN standing presses and 145 was surprisingly easy where before doing them SEATED i was doing 135 for 4-6. not to mention i feel like my bench is going up swiftly.

Heavy rows (upright, bent over, barbell, machine, db.....)

Front raises

Military (DBs, barbell...)

Its all about what you put into them and how you feed your body afterward.

I do 3 exercises. 1 for anterior, 1 for medial and 1 for posterior head.

Military or DB press (change every week)

wider grip upright rows (occasionally will also throw in a few sets of lat raises)

DB bent over lat raise
