well the government can tell you what to do----especially when it comes to consensual crimes like steroids, so its pretty hard to govern yourself when your locked in a small cell for the next 20 years of your life :-\

this ss absolutely 100% debateable.

in my personal opinion, the constitution makes it pretty damn clear that the government has ZERO business telling us how live our lives, " life liberty and the pursuit of happyness" as long as it doesnt harm another who doesnt want that harm

trying tell them that when they have you in shackles up on drug charges----theoretically I agree with you, but in reality the laws dont

"as long as it doesnt harm another who doesnt want that harm"---thats what consensual means ;)

I believe all drugs should be legal in my opinion but the government doesnt agree and they have a lot of guns and jails to deal with the people who dont agree with them :-\

i knwo what it means. i have some background in law and politics.

sure, the government DOES tell us what to do in those cases. but you said "IT CAN" tell us what to do.

there is a difference.

it does, but it can not.   it does, simply because it has the power, but according the the underlying principles of the constitution of this government it CAN NOT. so, if one was to get convicted of such a crime, i absolutely believe a good confident lawyer the likes of cockran would easily be able to sway the courts opinion..

you are arguing semantics---I'm talking about reality

in reality they can tell you what to do and have the force to make you do it or punish you------if you;re caught with kilos of coke, cochran aint doing shit but maybe reduce the sentance a little, you're still doing time unless you are some rat fuck

that certainly seems to be the case. with millions in prison for such crimes. but i think its possible to argue that said law is unconstitutional, ths no crime has been commited; but these guys always try to argue that they are not guilty.  you can be guilty if its an unpunisheable crime; and its unpunisheable if its unconstitutional !

Good point, Moose. But it will certainly offend those that prefer to exist with a "Victim" mentality. You know the one's that blame all their failures on the Government or the evils of society. I especially love the one's who say that our  criminal justice system unfairly targets certain types of people(I think we all know who I'm talking about) even though those individuals are the one's who are disproportionately committing the majority of crimes..like they should be cut slack because of their ethnicity. We live in an era where no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions. Much easier to blame the police or the government.

Just vote for Ron Paul and you wont have to worry about the government telling you what to do becuase he believes in personal freedoms/liberty without government intervention in your personal life.
