I've a client who has admited to being on the third week of a cycle (deca and test), after I noticed his ankles were unusually swollen. Is this something I should be concerned with? I am not opposed to his using rhoids, but I am completely uneducated about it all.

He should see a doctor ASAP. It could be nothing but better to be safe then sorry.

Holding too much water while on cycle could potentially lead to heart damage and even death. Be very concerned with this. As said stated above: Doc Immediately. Also you might want to PM FreakfestMD!

Are you sure that is all he's taking? 3wks of test/deca although it will cause some water retention would more then likely not cause your ankles to swell up so fast in such a short period of time. Possible, maybe but unlikely IMO.
A few thoughts come to mind: ask him if he's taking any HGH since ankle and wrist swelling are very common with HGH use, especially at a higher dose. Also, find out where he got his AAS...could be that that's where the problem lies...it could be pure garbage and that could easily be where the problem lies.

Any updates?
Well, he admitted to having been on the cycle 5 weeks now. And a few days after I saw the edema, the swelling was completely gone. I only train this guy for core, so I never got to see him work out with weights and I only see him in sweats, so I had no clue about his strength & size gains. He refuses to see a doctor. I guess that's his decision...
Thank you everyone for your replies.

Thanks for the update.
Last summer my ankles got so swollen that they were almost as big as my calves. I freaked out & had my wife drive me to the ER at about midnight. Turned out to be nothing - everything checked out - BP, fluids, etc. When I woke up the swelling was down about 90% & gone the next day.

Wow, ankle edema scares me. The last time I saw ankle edema was right before my grandpa died of a heart attack. So, seeing my client's ankles swollen scared purple turds out of me !

I know I usually think heart failure when I hear/see swollen ankles.

scary shit.... :-\

I have seen competitors post contest get this. I think some has to do with the diet and the quick return to sodium/carb rich foods. Kind of a rebound, wonder if this guy did any goofy dietary changes?

who has that picture of tom prince when he was MEGA bulked and his belly button is popping out? I think he's doing a front double bi in that particular shot. anyway, look at his ankles in that picture. :-\

The biggest reason I've seen for ankle and feet having bad edema is when guys are using synthol to bring up their calves.
