933lb
no joke, i'm entirely expecting to see konsti break the 1000lb barrier as a 275 someday. i think he's still about 26 or 27. :o

He looks about 35-40, WTF!?
933?! Serious rebound out of that suit or what? Never seen anyone but a BBer start from the top like that. Impressive nonetheless!

i know, he looks pretty old, but he's a young fella. there's a vid of him hitting 860 as a junior in the IPF (i think) completely raw. not even a belt. RETARDEDLY strong.
i'm not sure why he does it from the top, but his training really looks like it's all over the place. deficit pulls, lockouts, hang pulls, normal deadlifts, the works. too bad he doesn't seem to do much by way of squat or bench or i'm sure he'd tear up a meet.

or he just looks old.
it's a shame, but when you're a bodybuilder or a powerlifter, if you're one of those guys who just has a haggard face you're going to be swamped with accusations of severe steroid usage. everyone knows guys that look twice their age but don't even work out, let alone use gear. it's like gyno, plenty of non-athletes have it, but if a bodybuilder has it suddenly the only cause is heavy juicing. ::)

This article talks a bit about the stretch reflex and how it applies to all types of lifters.

Its great to re-read old ideas sometimes because you just plain forget with all the new info you're taking in and trying to apply. I used to do these for DL's when I started BBing because it was a good way for me to handle more weight and build more muscle. I think that this is why my platform DL and my floor DL are so close. Squat and bench both start fully extended and if you come down tight and controlled then you get much more spring out of the hole. When I get down for a DL I feel loose and out of form and you are forced to fire all your muscles at once without a "preload" on your muscles and tendons. The stretch reflex probably helped me a ton when I hit a 585 DL @ 225lbs (from the floor).
I may need to throw these back in every now and again. Anyone else use them with great success?

Yes, These are fantastic additions to deadlift training.
Yes, he looks older because of years of drug abuse, just like MANY other powerlifters, bodybuilders and strongmen.
Yes, for his size he's one of the strongest deadlifters on the planet.
Lower back must be made of steel cords!
