What everyone in the industry knows is that AMI/Weider would NEVER
EVER
EVER
EVER
EVER allow STEVE BLECHMAN and MD to control the MR OLYMPIA title.
Jay's "victory" over Victor had nothing to do with Muscletech and everything to do with AMI/Weider's monopoly over the Mr. Olympia title that has always existed and always will exist. After all, it is Joe Weider's Mr. Olympia -- not Steve Blechman's Mr. Olympia.
AMI/Weider could never allow Steve to prohibit 2007 Mr. Olympia Victor Martinez from shooting with their photographers or "contributing" to Flex Magazine. It would be perceived as a MASSIVE VICTORY for MD and BLECHMAN and AMI/Weider would lose their stranglehold on the only thing that they have over MD.
According to Isaac, Robin Chang, and several others, AMI/Weider is willing to break the bank to sign Dennis Wolf away from MD to ensure the Olympia title remains with AMI/Weider for eternity.
Didn't anyone else notice how Robin and McGough were at last year's Arnold when MD scored a 1-2-3-4 finish with Victor, Dexter, Freeman, Badell? So what did they do? AMI went out and spent a boatload to steal Dexter, Freeman, and Badell from MD. Blechman had to let them all go just to be able to afford to keep Dennis and Victor.

I think you're an idiot who has too much time on your hands. Was there a 2nd shooter in the grassy nole too? Was the moon landing taped at a Hollywood sound stage? Did Liston take a dive against Ali??? C'mon. Arnold is like a son to Weider and there Dexter was thanking MuscleTech for his win. You guys put too much into this contract bullshit. Weider is more of a figure head now. Based on past Olympia's, if Jay is off, he may lose, Doubt it, but that's a fact. Should Vic have won last year, mabye. But every Olympia winner gets at least one mulligan. Haney got one in 1990, Yates in 1994, Ronnie in 2001. Its just how the sport is.

Uhhh Mike, check the labels again: You're a measly Getbig Level V and I am a Level V EXPERT. Please respond with the appropriate levels of respect for your superiors.
Exhibit A of your inferior intellect: "Based on past Olympia's (sic) if Jay is off, he may lose." I direct your attention to the 2007 Mr. Olympia. Jay was more than 'off', he was 'way off'. Others were 'On'. Jay still won.

You don't make any sense, mike. At the end of the day MONEY talks and BULLSHIT walks and Weider/AMI will still never allow a Steve Blechman to have something over them.
Jay wasn't even top 7 material at the last Mr. O and he won and Jay has admitted in jest that "if he can win the Mr. O looking like that imagine how he'll do when he's actually in shape". Money and MuscleTech aint even about it now. Now it's reputation and keeping what's "gold" about bodybuilding out of NYC.

Quick, someone posta pic of Steve getting owned by Arnold. ;D

Throughout history, conspiracies HAVE taken place when a great deal of money and power is up for grabs.
Some are true, some are imagined. There were unexplained bullet holes in JFK's vehicle and body that required more than 3 bullets. The US abruptly cancelled the last 3 Apollo missions the day after USSR announced they finally had a telescope which would allow them to videotape the landings we said we were regularly conducting, and we inexplicably never returned to the moon to complete ongoing projects. On 911, 2 planes brought down 7 buildings, all heavily insured by the same guy who admitted on PBS that "we decided to pull the building", a common demolition term. Gorbachev, Gen McArthur, and hundreds of US military officials have openly admitted there are UFOs.
Shit happens in real life when money and power are involved. You may have been conditioned to roll your eyes when someone mentions something that doesn't fit the official story (usually written by those with the most to benefit...), but you should open your mind to the fact that some conspiracies are real.

Shit happens in blah blah blah blah....
Thanks for ruining the thread with your gobblygook Politics Board conspiracy JFK/911/UFO crap. Just because AMI/Weider/Muscletech/BB.com tells you to ruin my thread, doesn't mean you have to Rob!

nah, I didn't mean to derail the thread. Just pointing out that the knee-jerk reaction to anything outside the official story - even though it's usually written by those with the most to gain - is a common mistake.
personally, I think anytime a sporting event's outcome means people get rich, there is going to be a bit of manipulation. Arnold didn't deserve the 1980 win. But, bodybuilding is bigger today because CBS covered his comeback. Was it the right call? Not to Mentzer, but certainly to the bigger picture. History is written by the winners.

Makes too much sense, in particular the comments in bold. I'm inclined to agree, or at the very least, seriously consider that as a possibility.

so you're saying that all Olympia winners have to cradle to Weider? :-\ :-X :-X :-X

no one really cares ::)
Everyday, millions of "No one cares" threads fade into oblivion, slowly scrolling down the Getbig screen until they reach the beginning of the end (a/k/a Page Two). If no one cares, the thread will assume its rightful position soon enough. At least be creative or humorous by posting a photo of tumbleweed or a starving child in Darfur.

I think it's funny, and do you think this international rice shortage is an accident? It's intentional. The powers that be want the widespread genocide of poor people.

I do find it ridiculous when I hear the saying "there just isn't enough food to go around." I am not sure if this number is still accurate, but if all the worlds rations of grain products alone were split amongst all humans equally, there would be enough for all of us to have 3500 calories per day. A Poor Man shames us all.

The other day I asked the deli girl at my grocery store how many days they keep the sub sandwiches before they throw them out (I asked because I shop late at night - 10pm - and they always have at least 20 sandwiches there). She told me they toss them every night at midnight. I asked why they don't send them over to a shelter or hand them out in areas where people need food and I was told that "if someone gets sick from an old sandwich, they could sue the store" as if some starving kid in the Sudan is going to complain that "the bread is a bit on the chewy side" and then retain counsel.

Well I would hope that dexter wouldnt thank weider after his olympia victory, since he was an MD athlete at the time of his arnold victory.

No, but some dumbfuck in America certainly would... and I can't see the store paying to FedEx them to the Sudan. This situation could be easily rectified if we just kill all the lawyers.

Just pass a law declaring that home ownership and US citizenship is required to file suit and that will eliminate about 99% of the frivolous cases.
And no need to Fedex the sandwiches. I've eaten sandwiches that have been laying out for 4-5 days without any side effects other than obesity.
-
home ownership in order to file a lawsuit? yeah, thats constitutional.. ::)

That was my point. Actually, after listening to Big Nation the other week, I'm thinking about suing Special Ed for my hour back.

That's why the amendment process exists. ;)

to strip less fortunate citizens of their rights and voice... ? oh. didnt think abou it like that before.

So is a FOB Haitian, that rent's a car only to get into an accident and file a Bodily injury claim and civil suit. ::) Get your head out of your ass. I think you should at least be a citizen before even being allowed to use the US legal system for a financial gain. They should go back to their country, do not pass go and no $200 >:(

I know we've got the special education attorney, but who's the second lawyer?
This place is overrun with them.
-

Hey, as long as you can get 2/3 of Congress and 3/4 of the states behind it, you can make any change you want to the constitution. Personally, I'm for an amendment to enable shipping anyone with an IQ less than 100 to Uzbekistan.
