I'll have wine everyone in a while. A little cheap cab' can be pretty tasty.

I do. I almost always have a glass of Chardonnay with dinner. Often it's 2 buck Chuck, but if I have company or want to treat myself I'll open a bottle of the good stuff.
I also enjoy dessert wines. I try different ones and repeat on the bottles I like. Currently have a bottle of Rutherglen Muscat by Campbells. It's funny, I don't mind spending $150 on a good bottle of Chardonnay, but I wince at dessert wines in the $60-$100 range. I prefer to stick to dessert wines under $50.
For red, I love the Zin, but I'll settle for CigarZin if I have to. :P
About two years, ago a few of us here exchanged quite a few private messages about wine with a number of recommendations. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the best exchanges on this board occur via PM.

if your gonna spend a bit jordan cabernet run 50.00 or so its excellent...i drink pleny of cabs 15 to 20.00 that are very good.chianti and sangiovese if italian.

I have two drinks every night. I think going through a rotation of high quality beers (hoppy or stout-ish), red wines (i'd stay away from whites, big link between whites and lung cancer), vodkas, gins, whiskeys and tequilas gives your body a wide range of health benefits, allows for better sleeping and makes for a nice reward at the end of the day. As long as you keep it cool except for special occasions, alcohol is good for you, really good. If you use too much, like most things, its bad for you.

I have some beers on the weekends now. Heard it has good health benefits, and plus who doesn't mind a drink?
I think drinking is one of the worst things ever. All the harms of drinking outweigh the benefits. For one, it's addictive if done too often. Alcohol also contains tons of calories. And the loss of water isn't good for the body. I also noticed that curbing and stopping drinking helped me pack on a lot more size and improved my memory. I think the benefits are overplayed quite a bit because alcohol just happens to be such an important part of our society.

well i get up every morning at 430 to walk my dog for an hour, so that easily covers it. My weight does what i want it to. when i want to gain, i gain. when i want to cut, i cut. When i cut, i usually cut back the alcohol to one drink a nite. I don't think the health benefits of alcohol are overrated in the slightest.

Stopped drinking Vodka and all alcohol when drunk it cost me a grand for a stripper for the night.Im to impulsive when i drink and cannot stop at 2 drinks.So im on the wagon.

About 7 years ago....we had a lawyer many of us in practice did business with.
Long story short...he absconded with over 2 million dollars of personal injury settlement money.
I lost only about 20 thousand...one friend got hosed on 250K of patient settlement money.
He was forging patient sigs on settlement checks.
I confronted him...he said he "Didn't know what I was talking about..."
He signed his parent's house over to him...cashed in, blew the m,oney.
His own mother
He triend to do the same with his law firm's building...that is when he got nabbed.
Still, it was incredibly hard to disbar him. This is hard to do with attys...at least in CT.
He went to jail for a year or two.....now works as a PARALEGAL!
I had pateints literally comin g to me, crying...'where's my money'...etc.

doctors say, one glass is good for you, but unfortunately it doesn't stay with one glass very often. You get used to it, so in the first 3 weeks you might drink only one glass, but then you end up with drinking more and more.
So people with a drinking habit should limit themselves to one or two glasses of red wine per day, but with people who do not drink, it's safer to stay away from it and not make it a habit.

this is only true for those with addiction problems
When I decide to have 1-2 glasses of wine or champagne, it is pretty easy for me to stick to that. No way would I go on to drink a whole bottle after a nice dinner, because it would ruin the meal and make me feel like shit.
I have been addicted to other activities in life but alcohol has never been a problem for me. I can do with it or without it for months at a time depending on my mood. I'll probably do a little whisky damage while watching UFC 84 this weekend though. ;D

hey man! i'm curious... how big is one beer in your parts? here in poland 1 beer is 500ml and the average alcohol content is 5.6%, so if you're drinking 8-10 500ml beers at 5.6% you're pulling some booze ma man! i usually load up on friday and saturday nites, and then 2 or 3 days during the week i have 3 or 4 beers

Yeah.. I was doing that shit until it started catching up with me and I could see it fucking with my health.
Now I have a few beers on the weekends and that's about it. Alcohol's addiction factor I think can be very high with certain people, so those people should never make a habbit out of it. It's just one of those things to keep as your pleasure, and not your habbit.

people want to convince themselves bad shit (drugs,booze cigarettes) are OK or actually "good for you".....
wine/booze also slows down your metabolism/has sugar/sugar alcohol in it and generally has no place in your diet!(except occasionally)

Yes. A glass if I'm eating a low carb meal which is usually the case. Bless West Aussie wines!
BTW Arvilla, wine contains no carbs. The sugars have fermented into alcohol.

last night, I downed a giant pile of roast beef and a big pita shell with a big glass of merlot in about 5 minutes.
Then I played a show 10 minutes later, jumping around on stage.
Worst heartburn EVER. I didn't think wine would be so bad being burped up. It was painful.
