Title: Jardine vs. Silva *SPOILER
Post by: SinCitysmallGUY on May 24, 2008, 11:37:10 AM
I want to hear why you think either one will win and let's hear how you think it will end?

I think if Jardine keeps up with the kicks the way he did to lidell that he will win. He just has to keep kicking and throwing his hands. However he throws looping punches with his head down and this is why he got caught by Houston. If he keeps his head down and Wand gets ahold of him in the clinch it will be a repeat of the page fight. I call Wandy by KO in the second. First round will  be a slugfest, but I just can't see Jardine banging with ol' Wandy..

SO what do you guys think?

I don't think Jardine can take the beating Chuck got, nor do I think he can hand out the beating chuck gave him. I see this being a slug fest that jardine will lose. I guess we will see.

Without sounding like an appeaser, I think there is truth in what both of you are saying.  Jardine will try to keep the fight on the outside.  He has the reach/height advantage over Silva and he would be smart to capitalize on that.  However I also agree with Mindspin that Jardine won't be able to take the type of hits that Liddell did.  Like Sin said, if Silva can get Jardine in close than he has an excellent shot at wrapping this up early but I don't think Jardine will let that happen or should I say he would be an idiot if he let that happen.  Unfortunately if Jardine is afraid to take chances on coming close, this fight could turn in to Jardine circling the ring kicking from the outside with Silva chasing him throwing punches at nothing.  I do agree that Jardine does throw looping punches with his head down but so does Silva.  Both seldom use combinations but of the two I think Jardine will have a better use of the jab.  When is the last time Silva set someone up with a jab and considering the reach differences attempting to do that with Jardine could be dangerous.   Silva could throw jabs all night and be met by Jardines longer right hand.
In the end I think this fight has multiple possibilities which depends greatly on how Jardine choses to approach the fight.  Does he take a risk or play it safe?

Oh brother ::)  Still on the Pride bandwagon.  I'd already forgotten it even existed.  After three straight losses by Wandy and some very impressive Jardine wins, I was not the only one predicting a three round decision. For the record, I can't stand Jardine and was rooting for Wandy...

Losses to Mirko, Hendo and Chuck aren't anything to be ashamed of.  Jardine matches up well with Chuck, who is a counterfighter who throws looping punches from a distance with his hands down to protect against wrestlers.  Jardine was the same guy rocked by Houston Alexander, and taken down at will by Rashad.  He has a tendency to drop his hands when leg kicking.
