Title: Olympia or other pro event?
Post by: Howard on May 27, 2008, 03:45:04 PM
I have never been to the Olympia before and tend to prfer the "other" pro events.
I am having 2nd thoughts on that lately and am considering going to the Olympia this yr instead.
I was going to the Pro BB weekly event, but may want to save my $$$ and just hit the Olympia??
Any thoughts, experiences or feedback welcome. Thanks
Howard

Ok here is my take:
I go to the Tampa show Aug 16 , it is all in one day and I don't need to take a day off teaching at the start of the school yr ( leave sat morning early , return sunday). Some of my favorite physiques will be in Tampa ( Tony freeman, Darrem Charles). The event is less crowded and the cost overall is a fraction of the Olympia weekend. Plus, while I admire Jay, the Olympia is all over the place and even has a live on line feed or some yrs pay per view, etc. I can go to two different other pro events for the cost of the Olympia.
I was going to the Europa, but my teaching schedule and fall sem school opening won't allow it.

Try and hit BOTH, Howie!

The PBW Tampa Pro is already lining up to be a great show....but the OLympia is the Olympia, an experience you would absolutely love.

Here are my thoughts based on the 2007 Mr. Olympia:

I highly recommend it and I am going to go again next year if I can get some friends to tag along (the 2007 ASC was pretty boring going alone).

you'll definately get a better seat at the PBW show with also seeing quality bber's. keeping in mind that if you don't go to the O there will be someone else still buying your ticket and the show will be back next year. The other thing is by going to the PBW show you'll be supporting growth in the  pro circuit and if well attended it will be back next year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Howie ask this same (or similar) question last year?

Believe me Bob I would love to go to EVERY show, but my teaching career demands in the early fall require I be there most of the time. The Pro BB weekly event is my main interest right now.
