Title: Got My AARP card today
Post by: Tre on May 30, 2008, 10:45:18 AM

I don't have a job, but that doesn't make me 'retired'.  I still work my ass off everyday.

AARP cardholders get lots of discounts around my town.

Should I take advantage of this clerical error or should I destroy the card and keep paying full price like the rest of the suckers?

It just showed up in the mail.  A 5-year membership is 40 bucks.  It would pay for itself in one round of golf at the snooty - but broke - country club up the street from me.

I'm barely over 35 and they've already hit me.  I think it's because the average age of residents in my town is 50.

You laugh, but I am seriously looking to buy a new single-story home so that I won't have to fight these damn steps anymore.

I'm only 33 and got one not too long ago. I had some heart trouble and I guess I was put on a list. I hung up the application outside my office and everyone got a laugh, except for some of the old people.

Seriously?  Parking costs are a bitch, so it would be beneficial to keep it, I reckon.

I hope it's a sign that I'll make so much money these next two years that I'll be able to retire.   ;D
