sideshow exposed
-
looks very human with a seasoned, yet lumbering fighter crucifixing and hammer fisting/'bowing the shit out of him. he showed superior strength to Thompson before he became winded (which really didn't take too long with the 250+ fighter on top of him) with the rapid body manipulation of Thompson and that crazy sweep. he really didn't show too, too much stand-up superiority though. colossus was trading with him at times and nailed several stiff jabs on Kevin. Kimbo's punching power was obviously the only thing that was superior and that was fucking nullified by the bigger and sounder, Thompson.

That was a horrible horrible stoppage, Thompson was coming forward when the ref stopped it. I'll never watch one of their shows again.

No takedown defense, terrible movement off his back. Does he even know what an underhook is. BLAF is right, BJ would DESTROY Kimbo. I see them feeding him a couple more cans, and no matter what happens, he will get the win. Gary Shaw is bad for the sport.
-
Should have been stopped in the 2nd round as there is no way anyonce can say Kimbo was defending himself intelligently at all. When I saw the stoppage it brought back memories of Pride flooding back again as we all know they didnt like there boys getting beat.
A fucking disgrace.

This fight was fixed.
-
Here`s the fight.

I love the announcers in the beginning of the third round. when there asking each other how the fight has been scored thus far. One announcer says he doesn't know!? give me a fuckin break! Thompson was leading by two rounds easily.
One of the worst stoppages in MMA history
I love how the ref kept standing them up and saying "theres nothing going on" Kimbo was getting pounded and the ref was protecting him
I've seen WWF matches less fixed
-
And the winner, by tko in the third round...KIMBO SLICE!
bitches :D

He was upset. There was no need to stop the fight.

Pretty much every fight was stopped too early. EliteXC is a joke. And the bigger joke is Kimbo. I would seriously pay over $100 for a PPV to see him in a cage with Fedor, Couture or even the lumbering giant Tim Silvia just to watch the big "thug" get brutally humiliated.
The chick fight was awesome.

that guy was going sideways wasted when it got stopped, you Kimbo haters kill me anything short of a complete owning you Haters come out and talk S@#t. dont see any of you in there with him!

Now as for the people who have said Kimbo would beat Fedor................... ... ::)

Tym Silvia would be more than enough for him..
do you know who i would pay TONS of money to see Kimbo fight? Mark Hunt...man i think that would be 'crack off' material'..HAHAHA
you have to agree that Fedor its too much above that, and he doesnt deserve this kind of thing...its like putting Tyson in his prime fighting with a joe nobody just because he won some fights...
Kimbo 'is' good..but sorry, his not even top 30 in my opinion...this Thompson guy is a joke (always was) . Why dont they put him against a at least 'good' fighter?????
like HEath Herring...Cheick Kongo, or Emelianenko...(i mean, the Alex one... ;D)

Heres the problem now:
Kimbo is obviously a huge draw making millions for Elite XC. BUT.... who do they put him up against now without having their cash cow destroyed like he almost was against a notorious glass jaw fighter in Thompson? Put him in with the next level up, say Rodgers, and Kimbo is done. There goes all the potential profits. Elite has some serious problems now with Kimbo.
My thoughts would be this: Elite should realize that Kimbo isn't a good MMA fighter. (and probably never will be). Give him one last spectacle and put him in w the heavyweight champ. Draw in tons of money on it, and let it be over with. After the show is done, theme the show as MMA being MORE than just stand up...
my 3 cents.

Kimbo landed flush on Thompson's chin many times and didnt floor him. ::)
That is all.

I think he knows he fucked up with Kimbo and he's about to lose a lot of money.

Gary Shaw's next move determines if he losses money or creates a cash cow. One thing is for sure he should learn how to shut up and not put out statements like he did..

Ok everyone, check this out. Kimbo tapped out. JT looks at the ref and tells him he tapped out. Elite XC has done a horrible job trying to protect this loser. I can't believe people were comparing Kimbo to Fedor and Tyson. ::)
-
LOL, even the announcers are screaming terrible stoppage.
-

Tyson would kill this guy with 4oz. gloves even in the shape he is in now.
as would George Foreman for that matter.

That is absolutely sickening. I cant say whether or not Kimbo tapped but the ref should not have stood them up when JT had side control and was striking effectively. What a farce but the internet yahoos probably loved it.

First learn how to quote. Second Thompson does that everytime after he gets hit but manages to stay up most of the time. You think they should stop the fight everytime someone wobbles?

Mixed Martial Arts
Pulling No Punches, Brawler Wins His Prime-Time Debut
By JOSHUA ROBINSON
NEWARK — At 9 p.m. on a wet Saturday, mixed martial arts opened its case to join the mainstream. The CBS announcer Gus Johnson looked into the camera and proclaimed the evening — the sport’s live debut on network television — “the dawn of an era in American sports.”
The collaboration between CBS and the Elite XC fight league culminated in the main event, a heavyweight bout featuring the former street brawler, bouncer and bodyguard turned YouTube sensation Kimbo Slice. Slice’s fight against James Thompson was scheduled for three five-minute rounds of few-holds-barred action designed to grip the crowd of 8,033 at the Prudential Center and, more important, the prime time TV audience.
Slice, 6 feet 2 inches and 235.5 pounds, gave the fans and the organizers what they had hoped for in the third organized bout of his career, although he had to work harder to win than in his previous fights. The bout was ended by a disputed decision, with the referee calling a technical knockout in favor of Slice. Thompson was bleeding from his ear, and the bout was stopped 38 seconds into the third round.
“I got him pretty good on the ear,” Slice said. “And I felt confident after that.”
In one of the night’s middleweight fights, Phil Baroni of Long Island, a former all-American wrestler at Central Michigan, was dispatched in 1 minute 11 seconds by Joe Villasenor, who was undefeated as an amateur boxer.
Gina Carano, a regular on “American Gladiators,” remained undefeated by pummeling Kaitlin Young in the only women’s bout, a vicious match decided by technical knockout after the second round.
The next bout, between Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith, was a dull affair. The officials stopped it in the third round after what they deemed an accidental foul — Smith took a thumb in his right eye — and the bout was declared a no contest. But that fight was quickly forgotten when Slice stole the show.
