Title: Ordering Fish Online
Post by: chainsaw on June 06, 2008, 07:53:28 AM
I just ordered some tuna (sashimi grade) 3lbs from seattlefishcompany.com
and it came overnight in a crate with dry ice.

Blows away whole foods.
It was super fresh!!

Was good for 3 days.

Check it out.

Anyone else order food online?

Really??  How far away to they deliver?  Do they ship to Canada?  That's very cool.  I usually can only get sashimi grade on certain days and that falls on every second week.

It is worth every cent!!!!

$100 in tuna sashimi here in vegas is about 1/4- 1/2 pound at a sushi bar, and this is
just as fresh.

I agree, and this place gets fresh stuff everyday from the dock.
I never been there, but they are right on the bay.

I highly suggest fish lovers to give this a try.

I ordered at 7am on monday, and had my fish tuesday morning at 9am
still cold and fresh as hell.  It kept for 3 days (could have another day or two but I ate it all)

How do you like Makino.  We were going there about 3 times a weeks when I first moved here.  Spending almost the past 20 years living in Hawaii I got very spoiled with fish.  Literally I ate fish 6 to 7 days a week.  When I lived on Oahu my friend owns the only fishery in Hawaii that has fresh salmon.  NORPAC Fisheries.  He would give me 5 lb chunks of Ahi or Mahi every week.  I always made grilled Ahi tuna then made fresh tuna salad.  I probably ate 10 pounds of fish a week easy.  For dinner last night I had shark tacos.  First fish I have bought here since I moved here.  It was on sale for $5.99 a pound.  I bought 10 pounds and froze most of it.  I never ate red meat (steak) in Hawaii except maybe a few times a year.  I eat way to much red meat here.  I grill almost every night.

Makino was great but it closed down!  Sapporo on Flamingo has a really good happy hour from 4pm daily with
decent sushi for the price, but Sushi Fever is fantastic on Sahara between Buffalo and Durango.  The are so busy
that turnover for the fish is swift.  Still kind of expensive.
Do you own the gym or manage it?

The one on Eastern is still open.  They have 3 or 4 locations.  I own the gym.  We found a second location on Farm and Durango or maybe somewhere in Henderson.

No problem.  We are planning quite a large promotional campaign so it will be pretty hard to be in Vegas and not know about EPIC once we start
