Aren't they no longer considered amatuers since they competed and accepted money as a "pro"
Serious question.
Sean Allen was a PDI PRO and competed in at least one PDI show correct??

"That was 2006. This is 2007. Big Sean Allen doesn't trivialize himself with things from past year. Big Sean Allen has new embarks to frontier upon."
- Sean Allen, 2007.
-
Did he compete in the NPC in 2007?
-
No.

Nationals - NPC, Super-HeavyWeight, 8th
USA Championships - NPC, Super-HeavyWeight, Did not place
2004
Nationals - NPC, Super-HeavyWeight, Did not place
2005

North American Championships - IFBB, Super-HeavyWeight, 12th

No.
Well, if he sat out the entirety of 2007, then it seems reasonable that his amateur eligibility - as defined by the NPC - would've been restored.

He said he caught a 1-year suspension from the NPC for it.

Sounds very reasonable to me.
And given that he won a very established and well-known NPC event, what would you say this means for the arguments of those who have claimed that 'former PDI competitors would be retaliated against by NPC judges'?
Does awarding someone first place equate to retaliation these days?

The competition was a mile behind him at this show. We'll see if he is treated fairly when he takes on the big boys. He's won a national qualifier now. Will we see him onstage with Trey Brewer in a few weeks?

Have you seen my baseball?

That's not out of the ordinary. Kai Greene competed as a pro in the WNBF, before winning the Team Universe twice (1999 and 2004).

Sean had to write a letter of apology and sit out a year...he wasn't an IFBB pro to begin with, he was an amateur.

The OLD NPC rules were clear, if you EVER received money from BBing in ANY capacity you were out as an amatuer.
Bob Paris had a clothing company in the early 80s that made BBing shirts in real wild colors, very cool stuff. NPC said he had to stop doing that or he was finished. All Paris was doing was selling BBing shirts and the NPC was about to bounce him. That was the end of his clothing company.

Sean Allen didn't place well in PDI, and didn't receive any money. So the old npc rules work in this situation.. The same could happen for that piece of shit--Troy Moore if he attempts to get a pro card @ the Master's Nationals/North America..

The rules reguarding amateur status has been softening up for years now...in every sport.
