this is in no way a steroid related question, but this board seems better suited to me than any other for this question.
how does one know if they are going diabetic without the obvious (and smart) answer of go to the doctor ? what kind of warning signs should be looked for?
??? ??? ???

Do you feel dizzy or light-headed? Do you lose concentration? Lose track of time etc?

I think its cool to post off topic q's here as I would post it here if I had a real question I needed answered. The rest of this board isn't worth a shit if you ask me. OK now back to the question: My best friend came down with diabetes and some of the first signs he started having were 1) being overly thirsty no matter how much water he would drink. 2) excessive amounts of urine, always had to go to the bathroom. 3) overly fatigued, like he couldn't get out of bed. These are just some of the main symptoms I remember him complaining about. When he did finally go to the doctor he was diagnosed with diabetes almost immediately.
PS this is really my friend and not me! LOL ;D

Some keto sticks also measure sugar in the urine which would be an indication... I think.

If your pancreas failed you are going to know, because you're going to the hospital whether you want to or not. Sudden weight loss, blurry vision, peeing a lot, insatiable thirst are signs before you collapse.
Insulin resistance and a pre-diabetic state when approaching type II diabetes is less dramatic. Buy a glucometer and check your fasted blood glucose. You could also do a glucose tolerance test. The protocols and BG ranges are easy to find with google. But if you're really concerned you should go to the doc.

also on top of all that cold feet and or hands as well as a throbbing in either of the two...umm if you ever notice that when you tie your shoes you tie them ungodly tight but you cant feel it...these are mainly signs of poor circulation which is a side effect of diabetes...
