Hey everyone, ON Whey Update.
Optimum Nutrition - The Introduction of Classic Whey Protein.
Lately you usually see ON Whey Gold Standard. Well, ON Classic Whey is being offered as a more affordable choice. It contains smaller naturally occuring proteins called Microfractions (Alpha-Lactalbumin, Beta-Lactoglobulin, Immunoglobulins, Glycomacropeptides, and Lactoferrin)
It has:
21 g of Protein from a unique “QuadPlex” blend of:
Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate
Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolate
Cross Flow Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate
Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides
1.5 g of Total Fat
1 g of Saturated Fat
40 mg of Cholesterol
4 g of Total Carbohydrates
1 g of Sugar
Over 3.5 grams of Glutamine and Glutamine Precursors
Approx 5 grams of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine)
Sweetened with Acesulfame Potassium (Ace K)
2 lb and 5 lb sizes in Double Rich Chocolate, Vanilla Ice Cream, Delicious Strawberry and Banana Cream flavors.

If you're on a tight budget, Optimum makes perhaps the best value whey protein out there.

It seems to me that (given the recent spike in whey prices), Body Fortres Whey Protein holds that honor. A 2-lb jug goes for $12.50. The last time I saw a 5-lb jug of ON Classic Whey, it was marked DOWN to $32 at GNC. You can get 6 lbs. of Body Fortress Whey for $37.50 (and it has added creatine and glutamine).
At one point, I would have given the nod to BodyTech (Vitamin Shoppe) Whey Tech. But, their 5-lb jugs have gone from $25 to $35 in the past six months.
ON Classic Whey tastes better, though, than either one of them.
