Title: Anybody Remember this Classic Monster?(Part 2)
Post by: Stu on June 17, 2008, 04:02:46 PM
It has come to my attention that some of you may not be aware of one of the legends of the bodybuilding message board world, many will know the name Chad Mower but maybe you are not so familiar with the freakish 128lbs of muscle that he carried on his jockey like frame. Whilst many of his later photos have been posted in recent times, some of his classic earlier work has remained under lock and key in the vaults of bodybuilding's murky past for some time now, I give you...Chad Mower.

Come on! This couldn't have been serious.  Someone playing a joke.

Oh no my friend, this was serious.

Indeed, the Mower movement had become a phenomenon right before our very own eyes.  What started out as a group of young, all-American, frat boys laughing over stupid pictures on a few bodybuilding boards had, in time, outgrown even their wildest expectations.

Soon, those same pictures you see above had fueled a campaign that had become bigger than many message boards all together.  For years, 2 to be exact, everyone rode the Mower express.  We even went corporate and began what was known as TEAM MOWER.

Before Chad Mower knew it, he had become an Internet legend, granted such privileges as the ability to work out free at any gym nation wide, moreover he even had women throwing themselves at him left and right at fitness expos.  It was a fine time in bodybuilding, a much more innocent time when these boards had an idea of what a true bodybuilding idol was all about.  It was also the original team of teams.  From Team Mower, we then had members that spawned their own teams, such as the Squad and Team McFarland and a whole array of other teams.

A great time in bodybuilding history indeed.. ::Cue Coldplay's Viva La Vida::

This guy lives in the same nek of the woods as me and Jenny BEAST. In Jenny BEASTs' neighborhood to be exact. Mower was before my career here at Getbig but topics about him never fail to capture my attention.

I would wager several of my getbig millions that he moved there because Jenny Beast lives there, that is a classic Mower move...

Dude, Mower was from a better time when even true rock was still alive.  Back in the days when you felt at your best, when life couldn't have been better, you remember, when you sported longer hair and were consider that "guy", yes, those were the times of Mower..

I remember a time when this photo was banned from Getbig, during those dark days of prohibition it was taboo to even have it as an avatar.

Maybe he'll be at Jr. Nationals this weekend. I'll keep my eyes open for him. I keep forgetting he lives in Palatine, IL. I also never remember to look for him at the local shows. Once a schmoe always a schmoe. I'm sure he's there. Possibly hiding? In disguise?

Well, if he wears a big penis head as a disguise at least you will know what he will look like.

Question about MOWER to any of the Getbig elders who can answer such as the GREAT goatboy...

What was Mower's demise here? What caused him to leave Getbig? Who is the one to blame for his departure? Supposedly 240 knows about it.
