UK news is so formal as apposed to the US, this looks like a comedy show compared to how they conduct information through the news in the UK.

Srry, off topic but just an observation

Wow, I really dont see anything wrong with it. When he made that comment he was about 20 and realized how much he loved his country after he was released as a POW. Fucking left wing losers will spin anything. If if was so bad do think he's really dumb enough to keep repeating it?

PMSNBC is DESPARATE for ratings since they were ranked 26th in the cable news polls. BTW, Fox was #1 again thats why Abrams was taking this from Fox ::) Duh!

Ok, now lets just watch the posts from the left wing wingnuts on here blow this up.

it woudn't matter - BUT - Mccain, his wife, and the RNC have repeatedly attacked obama's wife because she said she's proud of the USA for the first time in her adult life.

Turns out, last year, McCain was admitting he really didn't love America until he was 22 years old.  And just 5 days ago he admitted "sometimes it's hard to be be proud of America".

He can't attack Obama's wife for it, if he's going to say something worse.  All the first lady does is meet people and pick out curtains... president actually runs the place.

Joe, just last week he said it's sometimes hard to be proud of America.

He said that June 15th, man.

You can't attack her for it, and give him a pass.  They're either both wrong, or neither is wrong.

The clip above has Mccain, in 2007 and 2008, saying it AGAIN on FOX news.  They're gonna find more.  He's said it a lot of times.  It's not a big deal - unless it is a big deal when Obama's wife says it.

So which is it, joe?  Wrong for her, but okay for him to say?

You didn't watch the clip dude.

They played video of him in 2007 and 2008, saying it.

This isn't some she he said at age 22.  The man was 69 years old, admitting he didn't love america.

And he is 70 years old, and he was silly enough to say the other stuff on monday.

Joe, you gotta quit being a party "YES MAN" and think like your own man.  Either they're both wrong, or it's okay for both of them.  PLEASE don't be one of the pathetic people on tv - and both libs and repubs have them now - who say it's okay when their guy says it, but wrong when michelle said it.

Don't be that kinda hypocrite.  Just say "yeah, that was a dumb thing for mccain to say".  Or, just say "it wasn't a huge deal when michelle said it".  be a man, joe.  Think for yourself amd show some consistency.

yes.  He admitted he didn't love his country until he was 22 years old.  It's not a giant deal, Joe.

What IS a big deal, are the many posts you made attacking Michelle Obama for saying she's finally proud of the USA... when earlier this week, mccain admitted he has an ongoing hard time being proud of the place.

Do you want to elect a man who is ASHAMED of the USA?

LINK (http://blogs.reuters.com/trail08/2008/06/14/mccain-it-can-be-tough-to-be-proud-of-usa/)

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain admitted on Saturday it can be difficult at times to be proud of the United States.

I'll admit to you that it's tough in some respects", McCain said when asked by a questioner at a town hall meeting how to be proud of the country.

McCain's wife, Cindy, pounced on Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, for saying in February that she was proud of her country "for the first time in my adult life."

For my once every 4 months posting, I am going to say something that needs to be said and is seldom adressed on this website concerning politics. Before I do though, 240 and anyone else trying to blow this out of proportion seriously needs their heads examined. For a man who was tortured in a POW camp for 5 years to say "Sometimes, its hard to be proud of America", as opposed to the ivy league douchebag wife of an ultra left wing presidential candidate with open ties to anti American hate mongers such as Rev. Wright, William Ayers, etc. saying her husbands success in the primaries makes her proud to be an American for the first time is not even remotely comparable. If you can't distinguish why one comment is harmless and doesn't warrant any further examination, and why the other should be subject to strict scrutiny and skepticism, your too stupid to discuss politics in the first place.
When Michelle Obama serves in the armed forces, gets captured behind enemy lines,  istortured for 5 years ( even though his captors were willing to let him go because his father was a high ranking army officer, but he chose to stay) while watching her fellow servicemen get beaten to death & mutiliated, then we can begin to equate their two comments as equal in terms of nature and creditbility.

The point I wanted to address is simple. A lot of you guys post here and sound like walking snippets of MSNBC and Fox news press releases. Its nice to spout off on the internet about politics because no one holds you accountable for what you write in terms of accuracy and validity. While many of you think your "in the know" and well versed in politics, the sad reality is most of you dont know shit and sound like complete morons. Stick to posting about gay bodybuilding rumors and mocking others members pictures. Politics and current events aren't your strong suit.

He was just taking something to extreme in order to get his point across, he basically said the old saying "you dont really miss something until its gone" , what some of you try to make out of it is pure BS.

And to say that sometimes its hard to be proud of the US is due to somethings like the campus shootings and other stuff that happen only in the US.

Thats a whole of allot different than saying that until finally everyone do what I like and vote for my husband I wont like the US.

Obama, his bitch wife and his crazy preacher should all be shipped to Iran to preach some left wing shit there.. ;D

I think they've both wavered in their proudness for America.

You can argue who wavered more.  You can argue that "well, he was young when he said it".
If Obama burned a flag at 22, would you feel the same way?

They're either both wrong, or it doesn't matter for both of them.

I don't think Abraham Lincoln let Osama Bin Laden go more than 10 time knowing EXACTLY where he was at!

What you see here, folks, is called Classic Fearmongering.

he'll often use mushroom clouds or Osama bin Laden's face too.

He's trying to scare you into voting against Obama.  He's not telling you what his candidate offers.

your often quoted saying there will be an attack before the election to make McCain look good. along with all of your other conspiracy's.

but saying Obama is light on anti terrorism is fear mongering? my god you are one delusional boy

They're either both wrong, or neither of them is wrong.

I'm embarassed to be having this conversation.  They said the same thing.  His might be worse, since he wants the actual job, and she just wants to pick out curtains.

Exactly. Similar comments, except his were actually stronger as he said 2, say is not proud today, say he didn't really love USA, and is the actual candidate.

I think all the comments were fine, but to pick up and slam Michelle's while saying his were fine is like saying the 175lb lady is a fat pig, but the 300lb chick is slim and fit. Kinda impossible to even attempt a reasoonable convo with irrational people.

Bin Ladin is Saudi Arabian as where the majority of the 9/11 hijackers.   A great deal if not a majority of radical Islam exists and began in Saudi Arabia and this is also where funding for these radicals is coming from.  It's business as usual there.  Nothings changed.

Wrong.  Something has changed.

McCain has devoted his adult life to this country.  The comment, in its entire context, isn't nearly what some of you are making it out to be.  We have a lot to criticize McCain on, but his dedication to the country...no.

I'm not going to run Michelle through the ringer for the 'not proud of America' comment either but it may logically raise more suspicion when viewed in conjunction with their long time church and certain friends/political associates who heavily criticize America.

I don't think either comment is a huge deal.  yeah, michelle is pissy about things.  Yeah. mccain is a war hero.  I'm sure everyone here was ashamed either when Clinton bombed an aspirin factory, or when Bush lied about WMD, if not both.  You love your country, you are proud of the great things she stands for, yet you're embarassed by what the govt does.  I am sure Obama and Mccain both feel that way too.

It's just the repubs who still say "michelle hates america" in light of mccain's comments that come off as hypocritical.  IMO, the people who are most criticial of something are more likely to CHANGE it.  People like JoeLocal who say "everything is perfect!" are the scariest fvckers out there.  It's the people who have the honesty to say "america does some fvcked up thigns!" that might actually change it.

Michelle comments fit nicely with her and her husband 20+ years mentor who preach to them weekly, somewhat different from McCain trying to make a point and people trying to take it out of context.

How in the world a redneck trailer trash like you became and Obama fan? Are you developing MattC symptoms? You hate yourself so much that you force yourself to become what you hate in some wierd twisted Froyd parody?

I'm not a fan of either candidate, to be honest.  However I am very mistrustful of Mccain's "everything is going great, Bush is doing great, the economy is going great, the war is going great, and I'm not going to change anything" position.

I don't trust people who aren't straight about the problems we're facing.  Period.

Sure, Obama is a big question mark, and yes, I'm not a fan of his church or holier-than-thou wife.  But I look at mccain, smiling with Dubya telling us how great everything is, and I cringe.  Bush and Cheney both said we'd be in Iraq for as long as they wish, even if 99% of people are against it.  Is that a democracy?  Will Mccain continue the trend of "I do what I want, even if 99% of Americans are against it"?

I'm sure that if the people could they would vote against tax....so where is the democracy?
No one ever said democracy is the ruling of the people over anything, that will only create huge lag and populist subjects to get passed/banned.

You also take a politician word too seriously, unless its the god damn crisis of the century than no politician is going to say that things on his shift (or his close colleague) are shit.

I would still rather go for McCain than some dude that got brain washed by his bitch wife and crazy preacher. If he was white and old like McCain and had the same habits he wouldn't even be looked at.
