Title: What do you still physically admire?
Post by: Alex23 on June 20, 2008, 08:00:22 PM
I'll admit being pretty disillusioned of the late; seeing 'Cut260' ending it this way, mid 20's "bodybuilder" with no future or education still going down the path, the bigger supplements companies gold digging and relying on lies to make a sale, 90's era bodybuilders I looked up to as a young adult falling appart faster than Rodeo Clowns...

I still admire the iron game but will most likely focus on my career and building an even more solid future, retire early 40's instead of chasing a plastic trophy, striated glutes and stand next to "guys" who want to fullfill an obsession mainly based on poor self esteem and megalorexia.

I was allways big; from a young age, people thought I 'lifted weight' when I didn't even know what a barbell was. I looked into it and started liking it. Performing the lifts was fun. Many lurkers and jealous fellows covered in Otomix, World gym and funny pants just to hide their ectomorphic physiques.

Then came the "drugs" accusations and even more jealousy. I then focused on college and grad school instead.

here's me after a month or two of lifting, already close to 200lb at the tender age of 16.

Here are real accomplishments from real athletes, not making a living out of deceptive obsessions:

Jason Pegg, an American Hero (nothing short of) who proudly taps the 800 range without too much effort. Great accomplishment:

There are many other who are worth looking up to. as I get older, I fail to find people I can look up to in the Iron Game.

Sadly.

all the mexicans are getting all the ladies.

but like you, i really don't care about getting anywhere physically.  at the age of 18, i realized i won't be a pro athlete or some fitness model.

so i'll just concentrate on starting up a family and living a legacy behind.

I mean, seriously, if Brad Pitt and Mario Lopez would just decide to up and fuck each other, the actual play by play and scene would be amazing.  Like two stone carvings converging like that of transformers while mascara squirted from every angle..

Delish..

Getting somewhere "Physically" just happened I guess... just a hobby, I first made my mark in Judo and getting a 2nd Dan at a young age, loved lifting weights. Some guys like Star Trek conventions, some like fixing cars, I liked lifting, nothing to make a career out of.

I respect salami lovers but stay away from it. I prefer mayonaising hot buns, just my personal choice.

you're no slouch yourself warchild.  your stories of penis conquests are quite legendary around here.

Not to mention his extensive pedophilia displays we repetitively deleted on the Y board.

Disturbing to say the least.

Seems a big odd Alex.. I mean weren't you a constant defender of the bodybuilding industry and the lifestyle?

I think most here realize that it's become a big joke. The drugs needed to be competitive these days is a joke.

I love hitting weights myself, but would never for a second consider getting into the bbing lifestyle because it's pretty much a joke of a career. I just workout because I love to, and because it's a great hobby to have. Natural bodybuilding is always a work in progress and that's what makes it great

ALex will be trolling for attention in a couple of weeks posting 3yr old pics of him juiced out, claiming he's going to compete

shit he was just endlessly rambling about competing a month ago, and pming all sorts of people for advice

he was also using his "peptide wizard" account 2-3 years ago, discussing steroid use and cycles, not a coincidence it coincides with when he took all his pics where he looks juiced out.

keep flip flopping and trolling for attention Alex------the schtick is getting old :-\

y'know, i like pegg and have no real issue with you alex, but you really gotta stop sucking jason's ass like that.

we get it. you're french-canadian and for some reason you really, really, really want to be all-american so now you've latched onto a war hero and are taking every available opportunity to bring it up. let's move on.

that is a hell of a squat, too.

I can honestly say that i look at a physique like that of Dennis Wolf and genuinely want to look like that. BUT, we all know what is needed for that (awesome genetics and a whole-lotta gear) but as of now, i just lift because its what i love doing, and will continue to do it till it is no longer fun (which hopefully never happens).

When have you ever been even close to a competition physique?

I hate bloated drugged useless non functional physiques, like cutlers.
If they walk fast up some stairs, and stumble they tear a muscle or a ligament and can hardly
breathe.
Jump around a bit and the knees may blow out.

Who cares if you can legpress 4000lbs if you cant use the body for anything else.

I like explosive brutal functional physiques, that can perform,
more like the power and agility
of a tiger.
But they must have low bf and decent looking shape.
Chuck Liddel look like shit with his pot belly.

I may look better than this guy in the pic, but I admire a physique like this one.
He have better stamina, agility, functional power and
his muscle neurotransmitters are functioning way better due to
more time devoted to training.

When I stop my MMA training and just go lift iron,
I feel lazy and almost feel uncomfortable walking around with a
lean, bad cardio weightlifting-pretty physique.

It's not one or the other. You can bet your ass Alves hits the gym pretty hard too.

I admire my physique and what i've done with it after 8 years of lifting . I don't understand what's the point admiring someone else's body, because it s precisely that, SOMEONE ELSE's body, not yours.
