Monson is one of my favorite fighters when it comes to someone with good Jits and wrestling.. Dude is a monster.. YOu must be smoking crack again.... He just couldn't get past Tim's reach...

I actually talked to Jeff at length about the Sylvia fight at the Arnold this year and he told me his biggest mistake in the fight was looking for too many subs off of his takedowns rather than looking for the GNP. I agree 100%.
Jeff is one of the coolest MMA fighters I've ever met. Really nice and willing to talk your head off if he has the time. Great guy.

Who cares, Kimbo knows every fighter hates him and thinks he is bad for the sport.. He must think that the fans totally agree. Plus I wonder what he thinks about all the fighters calling him out.... He can't honestly think that he can win with the level of fighters calling him out.

From what I have heard him say and other sources, to fight him in the backyard you had to have 10,000 to put up... If that is true, then I bet he is making close to what he was back then..
Back then no one could take a cut of his money, he was bodyguarding for the porn company and he wasn't having to train all day long because he was fighting cans.. now he is fighting pro cans and taking punches and people are taking some of that purse.. So really and truly I think he might have been better off sticking to the backyard. That and at least back then people thought he was a decent fighter.. NOW HE HAS BEEN EXPOSED and is the #1 most hated dude in MMA. I don't think that I have ever seen anyone be called out more then Kimbo and by such a huge mix of fighters.

I think it was a $100,000. Still, after the porn company took their cut, and Bas Ruttun and the rest of his trainers took their piece of the pie, I'm sure that didn't leave Kimbo with much.

He got $125,000 to show, $50,000 to win.
Even Tank got more than $100,000 he got $126,000.
And that's for ONE fight.
Yeah I'm sure Kimbo's planning to retire and return to fighting "Rasta Man" in the parking lot because the payout is much better. ::)

Problem is he won't be getting that paid much longer. Couple of times at that pay is great, but his future has been cut short.

Kimbo might be a bum but hes the most talked about tomato can kicking bum in all of MMA right now which means $$$$$$$$ and thats why everyone is jumpin on the Kimbo hate bandwagon because they know whoever he fights means money.
I personally say good luck to the daft fucker, despite the fact he got his ass anded to him lastfight. Its got to the point where hes the luckiest fucker around at the moment, hell hes that lucky he could catch AIDS today and they would find a cure by lunchtime.

Doing his best Brett Rogers impersonation, Jeff Monson recently released a video calling out Kimbo Slice. Monson decided to go the video route because as he put it, "I know the (explitive) doesn't read."
During the video tirade, Monson called on EliteXC President Gary Shaw to make the match up between he and Kimbo; today the younger Shaw, EliteXC Vice President and matchmaker Jared Shaw responds:
"Get some wins and then maybe we'll put him in line down the road to face Kimbo," said Shaw to Fightline.com. "If we fought every person that's called out Kimbo or that wants to fight Kimbo we'd be fighting everybody from a 3rd grader in Duluth to a 65 year old in Boca Raton. So take a number, get in line and get some wins; then we'll talk."
It seems that Monson, who is 2-3 in his past five fights, was trying to follow the trail blazed by Brett Rogers who successfully lobbied to face Kimbo through insulting him personally at a post fight press conference and posting an open letter, further attempting to humiliate Kimbo.
The move paid off for Rogers as the undefeated prospect is now set to face Kimbo on the third CBS show, tentatively scheduled for this October. Other strong possibilities for that show include a rematch between KJ Noons and Nick Diaz should Diaz make it past ground specialist Thomas Denny on Jul

Monson is legit, with serious wrestling and jits skills. Unfortunately, he is too big (read short) to fight successfully at Heavy. He is doing a sub grappling tourney here in Hawaii this weekend (OTM) against a Kekumu Cambra (Black belt under Egan Inoue). I am looking forward to seeing it. If rumors are correct, Sergei will destroy the Kimbo myth, anyway. ;D

The reason everybody wants to fight him is because they feel they can beat him! How many guys are talkin' shit about fighting Anderson Silva or Rampage or Tyson in his day? Not one! He's a bum and everybody from a 3rd grader to grandpa see's enough flaws in his game to think they have a chance. This guy Shaw is a fool for making a response like that! Idiot!!!

Kimbo is very lucky he is making the big bucks right now....all off his internet fights with local tough guys.
He has a good punch and can take a shot but other than that he is a lower tiered pro MMA fighter.
Everyone wants him because he has a big name with less than average skill (even though he is working with great trainers).
Monson would be a nightmare matchup for Kimbo. Monson is an extremely good grappler and thats Kimbo's major weakness.

Whether the venue is the ring, cage or backyard...Monson takes Kimbo down submits him or G&P to a stoppage at least 4 out of 5 times IMO.
