what is difference between "refined" and "Extra Virgin" Olive Oil?

Extra virgin - considered the best, least processed, comprising the oil from the first pressing of the olives.
Virgin - from the second pressing.
Pure - undergoes some processing, such as filtering and refining.
Extra light - undergoes considerable processing and only retains a very mild olive flavour.

hmm, i wonder why the refined shit is cheaper.

Olive oil is very sensitive to heat and becomes an unhealthy fat very easily.  Refined is cheaper because it's cheap and easy to make.

i have pure olive oil?  Will i get health benefits from it at all, or do you think it's too refined?

I'm sure Waddy gets the Extra Virgin type thinking it is made with olives that haven't been fucked yet.  The "extra" is just a plus to him

Ideally you want extra-virgin and cold-pressed as well so no heat damages the oil.
