I had an interesting conversation with a new client of mine today. She is originally from Iran; she came to the U.S. a little over thirty years ago.
We got to talking about the upcoming election and she had something very interesting to say. When we begin speaking about Obama her entire demeanor changed. She said that Senator Obama reminded her of why she left Iran when she was in her twenties. She said his speech, although educated in what he says, was in many ways identical to what was being said during the revolution in Iran in her younger years. She went on to say she has reason to fear what Obama and his supporters could do to this country if they were in fact to find themselves in power. She said that in her thirty plus years here in the U.S. that Obama’s philosophies are in her opinion the most un-American and potentially damaging that she's heard since leaving Iran.
Now I am not an Obama supporter, but after hearing what an Immigrant form Iran had to say about him, someone from a country that hates America perhaps more then any other, it really strikes fear into ones heart as to what could come to pass if those like Obama do in fact find themselves in the most powerful position in the world.
There was a lot more to the conversation, but that was the main point. Just food for thought...I'm sure many hear will disagree, but thankfully, we're still allowed to do that...at least for the moment.

Will this have a positive impact on what Americans are paying at the pump?

Arnold...u need to post this far and wide...amazing stuff absolutely amazing stuff. Please I'd love to know more. This is what many of us have been saying about this guy, but we get snowed under with the race card or more Bush crap.

Something else I found interesting that she said. She said since she's been in America, she's never seen the American public so eager to be "told how to think." The Obama bombardment is coming by way the elite media and people are grabbing on to it without taking all aspects into consideration for themselves.
The way I see it, we as a society have become so dependent on others making decisions for us, that we've given our selves up to whomever will enable this phenomena to grow. Obama represents the ultimate enslavement to personal thought and decisions.
I for one am not a huge fan of the alternative to Obama, I'll be the first to admit I lean very far to the right of center on most all issues. But the idea of Obama or any Obama type individual being responsible for the head of this nation is troubling IMO...and I would vote for just about anyone over someone like him.

Well, people like you didn't like Ron Paul...so...

good question....no. It has no impact whatso-fucking-ever. It's political propaganda..and almost has the wherewithal to hold airtime on limbaugh.
almost

I didn't like RP because of his isolationist foreign policy...besides that he was ok.

he was immature in that aspect.
we lose the leverage that comes from "shit hits the fan, we can always deliver a million parting shots" having set up in everyone's backyard.
knowing there's a big man in your yard with a gun, you're less likely to hurt his interests. RP's theory on isolationism would have been awesome in 1805 when Jefferson decided to start carving up Africa. but now, the "being able to survive without other nations" has sailed.

Its not isolationist, it's non intervention
"peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none..."

If there were no US bases worldwide, a lot of countries would stop giving us preferential treatment and favorable trade agreements. We have 300 million lazy fvckers here. Do you think they can compete with 1.5 billion chinese slaves? I do not.

I can see how that's helped in Iraq, Saudi Arabia just to name two.

Maybe Americans should start learning how to manufacture things again and how to compete in a global market instead of just going along with the rigged economy as is present.

our education system is poor. our labor pool is pathetic. unless we have ten bill gates emerge tomorrow, I don't see us planting any flags anytime soon.

The problem is that both Bush and Obama are un-American...perhaps America needs Obama to balance out what Bush has done to us.
That's as valid a point as any other in this thread.

what are righties really afraid of? That a liberal ends with the turbocharged extra power the neocons retrofited the executive branch with. But hey, when we were pointing this out years ago you all pissed and moaned and cryed BS. Now your fucking sweating bullets ::) No shit huh ::)

Sure, we're sweating bullets that some slack-jawed mealy-mouthed underweight wuss will have the gonads to over-use executive authority. Right, it has everything to do with that and nothing with the fact that he is an unavowed socialist. You have us pegged "Hugo." Blecccchhhh

Sorry, the sophisticated concept of "sarcasm" esacpes you . ..
Okay, let me add the political point at your suggestion. Nothing in Obama's rhetoric suggests that he will take full advantage of the broad powers of the executive in terms of foreign intervention. In fact, the opposite.

"Rambo" Midnight, bro.... keep it focused on some goddamned political point. you're cool to take pot shots at me but add something of political value out of respect for the fella that started the thread. I intentionally shot past the sarcasm and back to my line for a reason ;)

Here's a large part of the problem. At least how I see it as a problem.
Obama types would have us form a more coexisting socialistic nature with the rest of the world. In doing so we become even less selfsufficient in many aspects, we become more vulnerable to physical attack.
But that's just the tip of the ice berg

And I have a friend from Iran that says the exact opposite.

Umm yeah exactly.
Iranians are scared shitless of cowboy Bush, but even more scared of crazy McCain.

Don't tell me you're buying this bullshit story.
-
No, I don't agree with this story. I already spoke to someone from the M.E, and Bush is a cowboy and McCain is crazy they want Obama in the W.H.
When I saw women and poltics I knew it was BS, who talks to a women to hear what she thinks about politics, lol.

That was really good.
