Damn! Hopefully its not too bad and its just a strain.

I guarantee this is the last powerlifting comp johnny does, once muscletech gets a looksy at that video. Cos if its a torn hammie. BYE BYE 08' competitive bodybuilding season and most of 09', if not all of it.

I havent found anything yet.  He did have some shirt issues, but they were fixed quickly.  I think his opener was going to be 600?!?

That sucks for Johny. Hope he heals up soon. Seriously though with regard to the shirt thing a lifter at that level should know what gear is allowed in the fed they are competing in. Showing up with the wrong gear is first meet shit.

HE DID THE ULTIMATE NO-NO... he twisted on the way up and lost control.. if ya watch closely he straightens the legs to soon in a almost stiff legged dead style.. then the twisting started..

But I thought he was the strongest bodybuilder in the world? Jason, I don't think he could hold Eds jockstrap when Ed was in his prime, or the Kaz for the matter.

It was an open back bench shirt. That fed uses closed back shirts only.

Is it possible he faked that injury after he realized that he couldn't finish the lift?

He didn't fake anything... ::)

Geez...

Look, the man is VERY strong.  He had an off day.  I have seen him pull over 800 lbs. Anything over 700 lbs is world class.  Give the man his props and let it be.

ronnie "technically" is not stronger.. ronnie made that lift with straps.. he also made that lift at over 300 pounds.. bring ronnie down to 275 and make him use no straps and he would not be able to do it..

That guy is one powerlifting S.O.B.  The first time I met him I was with Mike Morris walking out of a contest venue and we passed him and they started talking powerlifting numbers and he was just screaming out to him across the room what his latest numbers were; at the time it just struck me that this is all the guy cared about at all in the world.  It is truly everything to him and anyone with their passion that honed is someone to be studied IMO.  That's why the G4P, that's why whatever else he has to do to make it happen for him, he does it.  It's all for the numbers and when you understand that part of it you can actually start to respect the "by any means necessary" component of it quite a bit.  Understand that this is just one white, non-powerlifting man's opinion but you might feel me too.

Never understood it like that...I wouldn't go as far as the G4P, but it puts it in perspective.

he'll get 900 someday. the 800 seemed INCREDIBLY easy until his ham went and he nearly tipped over sideways. it's kinda weird though that he pulled 814 at about 230, but in the 270s he injured himself with 821.

Ron was 5 weeks out of the freaking Olympia pulled 805 for 2. Put Ron in full offseason 315lbs and he is easily outdoes Johnny. Ron should have retired after 2005 and then done the WSM.

As easy as the double with 765 was I don't understand why the first attempt was so hard - especially considering he even put on a suit.

Hmmmm,geeze,765 is a looooong way from the 1000lbs he has predicted.By the way, where are all you guys who bash gear in powerlifting as Johnny wore the most jacked up deadlift suit he could get on and had his super jacked bench shirt thrown out of the meet.Thats funny,I thought RAW is all that counts.I guess when it comes down to it,everyone, including the morally supperior bodybuilder,is looking for an advantage.

I agree
ronnie is waaay stronger.. he was not 300 he was 5 weeks out
ronnie pulled 800 for 2 during a workout not at a meet....
and he did so after 4 heavy sets before that..
after which he knocked out barbell rows working from 315 to 500
no contest even with coleman retired i dont even think johnie is the strongest bber around now...
