DENVER, Colo - On orders from Senator John McCain's security detail, Denver police escorted a 61-year-old woman away who was waiting in line to attend a so-called town hall meeting with McCain that was billed as open to the public.
Carol Kreck, who works as a librarian in Denver, held a homemade sign reading "McCain = Bush." On orders from McCain's security detail, police cited her for trespassing and escorted her to the sidewalk. She was told if she returned she would be arrested.
"And all I did was carry a sign that said McCain = Bush," Kreck said. "And for everyone who voted for Bush, I don't see why it's offensive to say McCain = Bush."

yeah i remember that. Both seem to have done it for avoiding incorrect association. the difference is, the Musim women did it voluntarily.

Can any LE types here explain how this could be trespassing if the event was open to the public?
How does carrying a sign to which the candidate ostensibly objects create the crime of "trespassing"
The granny asks another good question - why would a sign equating McCain to Bush be offensive to McCain or his handlers???
-
Just like that guy that carried a sign Obama = Black guy
lol
-
it's public distubance, right?
once the person who owns the building asks you to leave, you have to, as its private property.
without that law, you'd have protesters at every event, yelling nonstop.

#1 - Obama called both the women in 24 hrs to apologize for the volunteers action - McCain has not as of yet called this old lady. Perhaps he will?
#2 - I actually found the sign being offensive as more amusing to Bush. McCain was compared to the sitting president was all...and this required a police escort? Not like the sign said Mccain = Dahmer, McVeigh or soemthing. Epic insult to Bush.

LOL, he was forced to by a muslim senator. Then three days later the same muslim senator that asked him to apologize was going to give a speech on Obama's behlaf, and Obama said that would not be a good idea.
Why does he need to call and apologize to someone that is against him, and was causing trouble ::)
No reason at all. Obama on the other hand offended 2 people. Which would call for an apology.
