Jackson Statement: For any harm or hurt that this hot mic private conversation may have caused, I apologize. My support for Senator Obama_s campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal. I cherish this redemptive and historical moment.

_My appeal was for the moral content of his message to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility.

_That was the context of my private conversation and it does not reflect any disparagement on my part for the historic event in which we are involved or my pride in Senator Barack Obama, who is leading it, whom I have supported by crisscrossing this nation in every level of media and audience from the beginning in absolute terms._

That may be true but his son as I said earlier works for the Obama campaign. So it makes a clear connection, to the hypocrisy.

Then Arnold's endorsement of McCain might be hypocrisy, since Maria endorsed Obama. Quite a few husband/wife, siblings, parents have split on political lines. What Jesse Jackson Jr, a congressman is his own right, does is seperate from his dad. Thats pretty obvious really.

Well, after some of the non-issue issues that Rove has put out, gay marriage and crap like that, it would be perfectly ok by me if it was a planned statement designed to make people like Obama even more... Let's face it, Jesse Jackson is a kiss of death.

it's a household name that many people hate.
i can't stand the guy. i'm sure many people feel the same way. he blackmails corporations. it's what he does for a living. He learned a racket of walking into large companies, announcing their HR practices are racist, and they have two options. They can hire according to his standards and make a donation to the rainbow Push coalition, or they can be on the news as Jesse jackson pickets on their front steps.

He goes from firm to firm, getting donations this way. It's total bullshit. but nobody will stand up to him.

I'm glad to see him on the wrong side of obama. Can't hurt.

Jesse and Al are Haters. Pure and simple. A lot of the older gen don't want the new gen to succeed. They believe that the old mindset should be THE MINDSET.

Obamam is not talking down to blacks, and I know of no black person, including me, that thinks that way. Jesse and Al I believe feel inferior. Jesse made that statement, either because he can't get on Obama's level, or because he wants Obama to get on his level.

It seems that because Obama maybe the 1st black President, Jesse is feeling jealous that he wasn't the 1st, so this is bittersweet. But, what Jesse doesn't realize, is that he helped prepare America for this.
