What was it that actually got this stuff pulled off the market anyways?

Apparently whatever was in there was shortly pulled and not even listed on the ingredients. I've heard of people liking the new Hot Stuff, whatever it is, but there's certainly nothing "magic" in it like the first few runs.

It was a total scam! Bill Phillips exposed this company many years back.  Ultimate Nutrition also ha a "kitchen sink" supplement ("Iso Mass Extreme Gainer") that has every supplement you can imagine all in one but they're not marketing it nearly as well as Hot Stuff did.

As I recall, National Health Products (the company in Florida that made Hot Stuff) got in trouble for calling it an "anabolic activator". At that time, the FDA was jumping at anything remotely hinted to be "anabolic". So, the company changed the title to "fitness potentiator".

Basically, Hot Stuff was the Nitro-Tech of the late 80s/early 90s, a protein powder spiked with many of the most popular supplements of that time: Boron, Smilax, Dibencozide, Royal Jelly, CoQ10, Ginseng (with ingredients like OKG and Creatine later added to the mix), etc.

I actually interviewed with Tom Ciola, the owner of Natural Health Products, about 2 years ago for a Marketing Director position.  His main company is actually a "Biblical Foods" company, selling nutrition products that were supposedly inspired by the Bible?  www.houseofdavid.net

The job wasn't too appealing, but it was quite interesting talking to him about his feud with Bill Phillips back in the day.  And yes, he still "swears by" HOT STUFF...  And he's a reverand!  However, I just don't see it possible to have effective doses of about 100 different supps in one scoop of protein powder...

Supposedly, it was the whole synergy thing. Combining all these products worked better than the sum of its parts. Folks today refer to that as "stacking".

Hot Stuff was designed to be a one-stop shopping supplement.

Driving 9 hours...hope you called first to make sure they had it in stock.  8)

Ya there my be something to synergy of supplements though when all the ingredients such as smilax, boron, sterols, ect, are useless the product itself can't be much better.
