"I'm so hot".
WTF are parents thinking at that age?
-
Epic 4inch Biceps.
-
She said Maughan was not interested in bodybuilding, but as a successful little athletics champion, enjoyed the contest on its fitness merits.
Mrs Wellham said: "I'm against beauty pageants and I don't believe in dressing up kids like 40-year-olds.
This is disgusting.

"I'm so hot".
WTF are parents thinking at that age?
they don't but they complain an awful lot when some sick fuck snatches their darling ::)
-
Epic 4inch Biceps.
Brutal side-lateral ears.
-
Monster 14inch chest and 7inch Quads.
-
Brutal 1inch Forearms.
-
Isn't there a minimum age?
Nico

She still looks better than Goodrum.
-
yeah, you have no idea how many "Jason Ellis" types that are hanging around the sport.
To expose your kid to that, at such an early age, is insane.

Did the parents expose their kid or has she just done it off her own back? (I didn't read the article)
To be fair, she has more guts stepping onstage than 99% of Getbiggers (myself included)

it's beyound me why parents cannot let kids be what they do best... simply to be kids.
All that shit of trying to give them the best head start in life is all rubbish and works in very few cases.
When I have kids (hopefully one day) i swear i'm not going to pressure them to play golf, football or persuit any other retarded sport but
let them be and grow up in their own god damn time.
In fact I hopefully by than I will live at a place were I can kick my kids out of the house for the rest of the day and tell them not to come back until later that evening, give all of them a bag with a couple of apples some sandwiches and send them into the woods.
That's what my parents did to us and we had the best fucking fun ever.
kids are soft today and if we don't watch out they will become even softer and finally be the turning point in humans civilisation and not for the better.
i think it's ridicules that partents cannot physically punish their children, kids neat to be beaten, not to an inch of their life, but in any clan in the wild, wolfs Lions even Dolphins what ever if you fuck up you get physically beaten and you learn by that.
-
I don't know. She apparently didn't enter the bodybuilding division, and isn't interested in bodybuilding, for that matter. I mean, if the girl expressed interest on her own, why not? I say it's a good opportunity to educate her on the benefits of a life lived healthfully while also warning her of the dangers inherent in taking the whole thing too far.
But I also understand the opinions of those who suggest her even being involved isn't psychologically healthy.
Tough one.

If a kid wants to compete, then she should enter competitions with OTHER KIDS.
Would any of you want your child exposed to the backstage area of a bodybuilding/figure show? Aside from the naked men and women gorging themselves with twinkies and red wine to carb up and vasc out, as well as various pill popping and needle use....
think about the types of 'hangers-on' that are back there, snapping away with their cameras.
There's a good reason they don't let incredible awesome 8th grade boys play in the NFL. They're not men yet. In this case, it's the same thing. This 10-year old girl isn't an adult yet. She shouldn't be competing with adults. not because of anything the kid did... but because of what the sport is. It's a grown-up sport, period.

And I'm sure these "woman" hahhaha have just the best advice for her regarding dieting and (lol) men (pun intended)

Vince just saved the images to his computer.

Well Nico, I do have kids, and they surprise the hell out of you. Given the right circumstances they are tough as nails. My son seemed to be "soft" so my wife suggested he go to a 3 week outdoors school, Outward Bound, in the mountains of North Carolina.
He spent 3 weeks sleeping on the ground, eating crayfish, spent 3 days alone in the forest as part of the "solo" training, and climbed a 500 foot cliff. When I asked him if he was shocked at the experience, he said that it was hard the first couple days, but then you get used to it.
Kid totally blew me away by his matter of fact attitude. This was a boy who liked to play XBox all the time, lol.
As for the 10 year old girl in a physique contest, as long as she wants to do it, more power to her. The key is to let her decide what level she wants to participate at. And of course, at that young age, her parents need to keep an eye out for "predators". But hey, that's no different than letting them go to the local mall. Bad people are everywhere.
-
Bad people are everywhere.
ya got that right. some freak named hypertrophy was trying to stick his penis in my dog at the Vet's the other day. bad people everywhere, I guess.

awesome I love to hear that, when I said soft I meant that nobody gives them a chance to do what they do best... being simply kids, instead they get protected and cuddled all the friggen time.
My parents kicked us out in the morning and said: I see you at dinner, it was awesome we build tree houses and came close to death or bad accidents a couple of times but it's all part to grow up.
I intend to do the same with my future son or daughter, I'm big time into bush crafting, survival and hiking..
Brilliant that you did that with your son, he probably learned more about himself (maybe not directly but more indirectly) in the days he was outside than school can teach him in all his life ;)
-
Cortisol,
Thanks for making my point, lol.
No problem champ.
Now get to those balls, will ya?
-
Nico,
Thanks. Yes, the kid has changed. Definitely tougher mentally. Something about spending time outdoors that educates you more than any school could!

National Amateur Body Builders Association president Graeme Lancefield said he was shocked by the parents' and promoter's decision. "Bodybuilding is not sport - it is a show - like ballet, dressage or pageants," Mr Lancefield said.
That should put the debate to rest.
-
Completely innapropriate at that age.
-
Isn't there a minimum age?
Nico
every pedi asks that question to the judge
-
How do figure, fitness and fbb competitors feel about competing on stage with a 10 year old child? It's a joke; but somehow it was allowed.
-
she'll end up like the next kelly ryan or melissa dettwiller

Are you saying the has a bright future ahead of her? :D

Wow.....49 posts and no mention of a certain getbig phrase relating to an certain IFBB pro from Australia
-
"Bodybuilding is not sport - it is a show - like ballet, dressage or pageants," Mr Lancefield said.
LOL!
-
It is on the front page of the newspapers here today and everyone in the gym has mentioned it. The consensus seems to be that t beats giving in to childhood obesity. It was with one of the many pure and natural federations that have shows every other week.
I don't have a problem with kids working out but if she is dieting for it then she will probably be screwed up in the future.
Personally I think that with all the sick fucks and pedos in the world, they would love this on the front of the paper. I would not be encouraging my kids to parade around onstage in bikinis.

Messiah what do you think of Tony Lanciano? All i have seen is he is very against.....anything other than natural bodybuilding but he looks like he has never lifted a weight in his life.
Pretty much looks like the biggest schmoe out there.

explain to me how its inappropriate ? ::)
tell you what, in my opinion its completely inappropriate that they allow pre-pubescant kids eat processed foods, junk foods, fast foods, trans fats, soda's, candies....
-
the other women don't look like they train either so who cares.
-
the other women don't look like they train either so who cares.
It wasn't really a bodybuilding show. It was a totally separate thing from what North Americans may be used to - nothing like other shows there [which are excellent, ones like MessiahofMuscle runs]. This was an all female show [no males at all in this show] hardly any fitness [who do the flips] or female bodybuilders. Just really women in figure and divisions like 'sportsmodels', evening gown section, and g-strings are worn by many.
I personally don't think it was the best idea at all to have a kid in a show, especially one of that nature.
-

Yeah, they should feed underage people celery and carrots until their 18. ::) In reality, it doesn't matter much. I ate pretty poorly when I was younger and it had zero affect on my body today.

A kid and his happy-meal are an American tradition... It's abuse, not use that is the problem.

Tony is OK with me, we have always got on well. He loves bodybuilding and is very positive to deal with.
He is crusader for the pure and naturals but always supports my shows, puts our posters up in his gym etc. He is on the small side (short), I am not sure if he lifts weights or not.
I know he is being interviewed on a current affairs show today - tonight, if he is not careful they will eat him alive.
-
Your response doesn't reflect my entire statement... You can do better.
maybe
but your response didnt reflect my entire statement either
my second comment was an afterthought to my first
-

Yes it did... My statement stated that it's "abuse not use" that's the problem.
In reference to it not being a problem eating a processed cheeseburger or what have you, but eating them every day or every other, or what have you.
-
Pretty refreshing to hear a head of a BB org admit that it's not a sport. He should be on the bb radio circuit.
It's comaparable with pageants and ballet until the pro level...where it just becomes a g4p advertisement.
She probably was more right to be in the contest than the delusional adult waterheads competing.
-

um, no it didnt.
my comment was that the little girl competing was not inappropriate. then i followed that comment with an after thought of " what is inappropriate".
you only addressed the after thought.

what an ugly bitch
i wouldn't do her
And here I thought it was because of her age.

I don't care about whether or not she's competing, but I do care about processed foods... hence why I didn't mention that part of it.

You guys are forgetting one important aspect of the pedo's who go to bodybuilding shows. . . . they are all gay.
-
100% of males in that audience are pedos
Unfortunatly people have that mindset!
If her parents are not pushing her into it like all these fasion shows then let her do it!
I think some of you men are scared?
scared????????
-
sickness and dysfunction run rife in that child's 'household'
