Nope...placed right where he should have.

Bob do you think if he makes the right improvements he can be say top 6 in the O within a few years?
-
I'm not bbing expert but he seems to lack what you guys call "separation".

Without question...

Not just at that show Bob..........i meant in general (seems to be "underated"/overlooked)
i could be wrong, i dunno guy seems to "have it all" ......yet is never considered a "threat"
guy looks like a monster to me!

I agree, but this guy has the frame to contend for top 3. Needs outer quad sweep, upper chest, thicker lats, maaaaybe a little more delts, and a tad more condition and he'd be pretty hard to put down.

What a joke.

No...this is the first show where his conditioning almost matched his outstanding mass.

I agree, usually he comes in a little off...but he needs more Quads and Chest to be more complete...awesome REar Dbl Bi though..

Armin could easily improve his placings by 2-3 spots just by stepping into Gunter's shoes...
This is something I don't understand about modern bodybuilding. The presentation is terrible, the posing is horrendous and the judging is indefensible... but instead of correcting the downward spiral of the sport, the IFBB made the posing round redundant? WTF?!
If I were Armin or any other top tier IFB pro (that is, if I were anything other than an anonymous internet dork) I'd improve my placings the easy way:
-I would actually stand "relaxed" in the lineup (stomach tight, legs slightly flexed, ARMS HANGING NORMALLY
-I'd spend a few hours a week learning to pose properly (hire a ballet or interpretive dance instructor if necessary. Failing this I'd mimic one of Arnold's routines in every minute detail.)
-I'd grow out my hair a little (Does a 300 lb man really need an aggressive skinhead look? Same for the buzz cuts... shouldn't they attempt to look respectable? Isn't mainstream respect the thing most sorely lacking from modern bodybuilding?)
-I'd only pose to classical music, hitting my shots in time with the crescendos
-I'd pose with my legs mostly straight: this splayed leg butt-clenching stance does nothing to improve anyone's appearance. When a bodybuilder does a lat spread his knees shouldn't be out as wide as his elbows
-I'd smile and not force my poses (squeezing makes no real visual difference)
-I'd make the stomach vacuum an integral part of all my poses
-I'd insist on wearing Speedos or 70's style posing trunks
There you go... a three spot improvement in placings and instant fan appreciation with no increase in doses or specialist drugs required.
...perhaps you wouldn't win outright with this approach, but at the very least you could accept your 5th place hundred dollar check to a din of disapproving boos. Gunter hammered away in this manner for a couple of years and continuously placed higher and higher (higher than he should have based on physique alone). Had he improved only slightly and been able to consistently repeat his 2001 GNC show condition he'd be Mr Olympia today and Jay and Dexter would be fighting for second place.

like dennis james this guy always looks unbeatable in gym shots then he appeasr onstage and its like what happened. still though his mm is matched only by WOLF

IMO the last show was Armin's best showing to date....His gut was in check, and he bought up his legs quite a bit...But he's a huge guy no doubt

You mean he should present himself while standing and posing- in the dignified, heroic manner of Arnold, Zane, Mentzer instead of the Buffoonish, awkward "Relaxed Stance" and clumsy posing..like virtually all of today's Pro's do? Have you lost your mind? LOL
