this is a very good question, many of the major german beer companies around today were around then as well, i would like to know this so i could find some of what they were drinking in the munich beerhall 'putsch..putch..pu..puetc h..whatever' thing of 1923. i dont think hitler was much of a drinker if i remember correctly

if i'm not mistaken, spaten has been around since the 1390's, and that's a pretty big german lager. maybe that?
