Title: Skinny neighbor
Post by: Nicrah on July 19, 2008, 03:56:15 PM
OK folks I have a dilemma. My wife is friends with our downstairs neighbor, and she has asked me to train her. Now she's a very good looking girl, but I feel she's too skinny.
She is 5'9" 133lbs and 15% BF. All she ever tells me is that she wants to stay as skinny as she is, but "tone" up. I hate that word btw. She says she just wants to lose more bodyfat. But she refuses to lift weights because she says "i feel like I'm going to get bigger if i do".
So whats your advice on this?

Not really lol. I just am trying to figure out how to tell her she is TOO skinny. Or maybe it's just my perception. Does anyone else think 5'9", 133, 15% bf is too skinny?

I agree with you, bro. At 5'9" she should be at 145-155 easily with respectable curves. This is natural for taller women. 133lbs is to light for that height.

Are you sure about her BF?  15% seems pretty toned to me.

And I agree 133lbs at that height seems too light but having once been 135 at 5'10" I can understand her side of things also.  No way I could have stayed at that weight though.

Noami Campbell is 5'9 and 120 pounds. I deem that as too skinny, but her at 140-150, damn, that would be as close to physical perfection as one could get.

Yes I am positive of her body fat %. I think she needs to gain 10lbs personally. But she is convinced she is at a "perfect" weight and size. My wife is 5'10" and weighs 155lbs and looks amazing at 16% BF. Even when my wife does some power lifting and gets big she still looks pretty damn good at 175-180lbs.

might wanna try explaining to her that when she loses bodyfat she will get skinnier which is something she doesnt want. Also when she loses bodyfat and hasnt or doesnt lift some of the natural curves and lines she may have now will disappear due to the lose of size(may want to use a different word). So lifting weights isnt about getting bigger its about creating curves and lines that are desirable.

I used to love it when ppl would tell me that "i dont wanna get to big" especially guys, id sit back and chuckle a little in my head. These ppl seem to think that adding muscle is so easy that you go to bed one night wake up the next morning and go "damn, I GOT TO BIG" freaking hillarious.
