You break a jar of grape jelly on your mum's favourite carpet, then find a way to get it dry-cleaned before she gets home from work.
You're a screw-up for getting yourself into that clusterfvck of a jam, yet your'e so proud of yourself for how you get out of it, that you forget about the fact YOU CAUSED THE WHOLE MESS YOU JUST FIXED.
And, you ignore the collateral damage. IE: $50 you spend at teh dry cleaners, or 4100 lives lost/$3 tril war costs (present & LT) borrowed.

It took the terrorists about 10mins to kill 3-4000 innocent working people in WTC compared to losing 4000 of our troops in more than 5 years that went to defend our country.

911 isn't an example you can cite anymore, joe.
Hundreds of people in the military are now calling it an inside job.
I don't want to debate it - neither you nor I know the truth.
Either 11 of our allies warned Bush about it beforehand, or 11 of our allies are lying.
But when hundreds of physicists and engineers, thousands of professors, and now hundreds of higher ranking military folks all say the same thing...
Well, at the very least, 911 becomes a question mark. And you cannot use a question mark to win an argument. If Bush knew about the attacks, as our allies claim, then those 2791 people died as a pretense for war.

Bushies approval rating is 17%, lower than Carter, lower than Nixon, the lowest approval rating in the history of the country.
Only savinggrace is that Congress's approval rating is lower 11%.

careful - most of those quotes were done to gain UN inspections. most of the quotes were PRE-spring 2003 when we finally got inspections. Our allies all wanted inspections. THAT is what the UN resolution, and all their quotes and intel, was about.
We got the UN inpections. we found nothing.
WE invaded anyway. And all those other countries got mad at us for it - because they consented to Un inspections, not occupation/nationbuilding.
There is a big gap there. All those quotes, from both sides of the parties, were about PRE-UN inspection desire, and they got that.

McCain admitted that he plans to make it so that "we never have to start a war for oil or energy AGAIN".
Alan Greenspan admitted the war was about oil.
BUSH admitted in Dec 2006 that the war was so that "terrorists wouldn't be able to control the oil".

nuking them? LOL... and we lose 40% of the world's oil output in about 48 hours.
Things get very ugly here. We might hate those bastard savages, but until we get energy-independent, we need them.

You sound like you know what you're talking about from a soldiers point of view-I can admire that.
IMO-and JUST MINE-I think Bushie and Cheney invaded more for oil than WMD's. I think Cheney and his oil buddies got together in a back room and divided up the oil fields and thought it was going to be easy pickings.
I would have never thought that in 2002, but during the last 6 years, and all the fucked up scandals and the politicizing of the Justice Department and everything else in Washington, I am now positive that Bushie and Cheney would stoop that low.

I'm not a fan of that side of the world. I don't care if they hate us. I think we should have hit iran a year ago. today they're too strong. I don't care what they do. If they fvck with us, I'm all for leveling them.
I just don't want to borrow away america's future - $800 bil per year now - or weaken the dollar further - thru macho posturing that Bush likes.

Are you fucking kidding me, the dollar is almost valueless, it cannot get any weaker.
That is what happens when you start trading treasury bills for the worthless debt of a BK Bear Sterns Cos. and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac.
Private profits for millionaires/billionaires and socialized losses/bankruptcy for millions of poor and middle class taxpayers.

Not as much as Russia (#2) or Brazil.

The Commerce Department has been forced by Judicial Watch to turn over records of spring, 2001 meetings held between Dick Cheney and execs from global oil giants, records that suggest that the group decided months before September 11th that the US energy policy would center on taking control of Iraq's oil:
In the late spring of 2001, Vice President Cheney held a series of top secret meetings with the representatives of Exxon-Mobil, Conoco, Shell and BP America for what was later called the Energy Task-force. Their job, ostensibly, was to map out America’s Energy future. Since late 2001 several public interest groups, including the very conservative Judicial Watch, sued to have the proceedings of those meetings opened to public scrutiny. In March 2002, the Commerce Department turned over a few documents from the Task-force meetings to Judicial Watch, among which was the map of Iraq’s Oil Fields, dated March 2001 (above) and a list of the existing “Foreign Suitors” for Iraq Oil. Since that time, Cheney’s office has fought fiercely (and so far, successfully), right up to the Supreme Court, to keep the proceeding secret and to keep any of the private industry officials from disclosing any information about the meetings. Since we all now know the Bush administration’s energy policy, there can be only one explanation for the extraordinary efforts Cheney has taken to keep this secret–he was discussing the potential for a takeover of Iraq’s oil with the companies that might manage the resource, even before 9/11 gave him the excuse to do it.

15% of the world's daily output, I believe.
however, I don't think we're gonna hit them. Bush sent the #3 man from the state dept into a negotiation session with iraq this week. London guardian reported plans for a US embassy in Tehran.

This strategic alliance bullshite. means we can't pick them off one-by-one as we did for afghanistan (caspian oil reserves, $11 tril worth) and iraq (50 to 75 tril of saleable oil).

Until 1998, Osama was an asset of the US Govt.
In the 1980s, he led the mujahadeen fight against russia, our proxy fight in afghanistan.
From 1976 thru 1998, we gave his fmaily contracts, and his army $, intel, and weapons to do our deeds worldwide.
In 1998, he bombed the Cole, then did 911. Our leaders claim he did those on his own. Some folks believe he did it at their request. Cole to put him on the map, and 9/11 to get the oil wars going. It's just one opinion.... he did our dirt worldwide for 22 years, then suddenly when it's a self-wound, he did that on his own.

The US has been trying to oust chavez for years so they can get their guy in there and control oil distribution. Their last attempt at a coup failed and washington was ID'd as the instigator. The failed coup generals are now safe in Florida. Even in the Iraq oil can't be shipped out anywhere without prior US approval.
So much for us not needing Venezuelan oil.

we do want to control it - definitely. We don't control it, and they're playing games with supply - only outputting 86 bil barrels daily when world demand is 85 billion.
if we controlled it, we could make it 90 bil a day and prices would drop significantly. It'd be an awesome thing. Throw the morals out the window, and it'd be great.

I don't know if we'd want to drop it too much- other than to satisfy our car manufacturers and such . If our "boys" get more cash for the same thing...well you know how greed profits in washington.

9/11 was an inside job but yet they cant plant WMD's in the country the size of california to shut the liberal nut jobs up. The inspections did'nt work because Saddam would'nt let the inspectors look where they wanted. There were no surprise inspections. You can look over here but not over there. What a joke.

"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow
Bush's speech right? Wrong Bill Clinton in 1998 before he bombed a aspirin factory.
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."
Bush again right? Wrong. Hillary in 2001

Only if we line up all the lies of other presidents and officials.
And we hold none of them responsible for info they purveyed given them by others they thought to be true.
That would not=lie.

So Moosejay,
In essence, are you saying that if you were shown a tape of bush saying he personally saw the 1st plane hitting the building while he was enroute to that school house in Florida (because afterall the TV set was on in the limo) would you then conclude that that particular statement was one that was "given" to him, and therefore would not = a lie?
Before you answer, do keep in mind that there was no footage of the 1st plane hitting the towers surfacing on TV. There were many shots of the 2nd plane hitting, however at the time the 2nd plane hit the tower, we know bush was in the classroom devouring such meaty prose as 'My Pet Goat'
And if he was not telling a lie, do you suppose that he actually did view footage of the 1st plane hitting the tower while enroute to the school house? If that's the case, ...where did the footage come from? None of the network or cable stations had it? do you suppose he was receiving a private satellite feed? ...perhaps from 5 swarthy looking guys doing a live remote broadcast from atop a NY city building with their cameras trained on the WTC towers? Do you suppose that's where the footage came from?
Please help me understand your train of thought. It doesn't make any sense to me?
