Mccain makes false assertion of surge & Sunni Awakening timeline
breaking news now. CBS interview with katie Couric.
McCain is very wrong on giving credit for this to the surge.
The US military announced the sunni awakening on Sept 29, 2006, MONTHS BEFORE the surge was even suggested.
The surge is Mccain's whole basket of eggs. now he's crediting things to it which occured months before it began.
