On a recent radio show broadcast from his home city of Albuquerque, Keith Jardine has announced he will be fighting Brandon "The Truth" Vera at the UFC's October 18th event in Birmingham, England.
Jardine was last seen getting destroyed by Wanderlei Silva at UFC 84 in a bout that lasted only 36 seconds. Before that the Greg Jackson trained light heavyweight won a unanimous decision victory over Chick Liddell.
Brandon Vera will be returning after a lackluster victory over UFC newcomer Reese Andy. Prior to the unanimous decison win over Andy, Vera was coming off of a first round TKO loss to Fabricio Werdum and a unanimous decision loss to former UFC champ Tim Sylvia.
The fight is essentially a must-win for both men, as the UFC's 205lb. division is incredibly stacked.
Although the fight has not yet been confirmed by UFC officials, it appears to be only a matter of time.

I was making fun of this card saying that it was good that it was free on Spike, but this is actually a pretty interesting fight, I like both these guys, I think Jardine will win though. I am also looking forward to Bisping vs. Leben, I am pulling for Leben BIG TIME in that one. FREE IS FOR ME. :)

Not to mention, if they do add a Silva vs Cote. I am going to watch it only to see Machida get taken out: finally.

Notice the last couple days the UFC is amping-up its upcoming fight cards? They made this card free and added this good fight to it, and then announced Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson and Karo P are all added to the UFC 88 fight card.
No doubt it is in response to the splash that the Affliction card made. Dana is pushing back. Fine with me, I hope he keeps doing it. I still can't wait for the GSP/Fitch fight. That card is going to be sweet.

I think UFC 89 will be setting stage for Rich Franklin to meet Dan Henderson in the not so distant following future.

I've talked more positively about Vera in the past than any other fighter...BUT, if he don't get his shit straight he will get owned by Jardine! The way he just fought, he would've got smoked by Tito...maybe even Shamrock!

I'd be willing to say that Jardine will have the fight sewn up by the middle of the second round.Much better men have been made to look like children against Wandy.

I'm sure Jardine is looking at this fight as a "must win" situation. He was just overwhelmed by Silva's abilities. If the Truth looks anything like he did in his last fight, then he is getting owned by Jardine.

Jardine is the real deal. He is ugly and is percieved to be stupid but he isn't. Both of his losses have come just seconds into the first round. As soon as he gets a better trainer who knows how to plan better, he is going to be legit.
Trust me.

Is appollo in Vegas bud? My cousin trains down at a gym in Vegas with a sebastian and a Master Chan. Foosi(sp) is the name of the gym, pretty bad ass coaches up in there.

I believe it is that same guy. He is the president of the LV Athletic Club.
