Another national title game where we get to watch an SEC school beat the shit out of you again? I'm getting pretty tired of this media lovefest with OSU. Talk about overrated. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing them stumble into another championship game and get destroyed. The shame would be great.

Title: Re: 5 WEEKS OUT
Post by: bigmikecox on July 27, 2008, 07:27:08 AM
Two outstanding regular seasons have both been blemished with embarrassment and what-could-have-been, but they are back for a third year in a row and undoubtedly a much stronger than the season before. Their offense is centered around Heisman candidate Chris Wells, who is 100% again after a progressive foot injury slow him down at the end of last season. Wells is the real deal and if you have any questions just ask the LSU defense, which is still chasing him. The real question mark for this offense is the passing game. Brain Robiske is legit 1st day draft pick, and is the primary target of QB Todd Boeckman. Boeckman struggled mightily in the 2nd half of the Buckeyes season and much of the Buckeyes loss at LSU can be laid at his feet. The offensive line is the finest in the game and pressuring Boeckman will not be easy. The defense looks to be one of the finest in the nation, full of All-Americans and upper classmen. James Laurinatius has become on of the most dominate MLB in OSU history, which is saying something, and his OLB Marcus Freeman isn't too far behind him. The only major loss for the Buckeyes was Vernon Gholston, and this could be absorbed better than many expected due to Lawrence Wilson being back from injury. Wilson was expected to the be the impact player on the D-Line until he broke his leg in the first game of the season. If the defense can improve their pressure up the middle this will be the best defense in the NCAA. The Buckeyes will be tested early with a trip to LA to play USC in a very anticipated matchup, if they win there is little to stop them from again going to the big game.

They think that having the media in their back pocket equates to them actually being good. OSU can't do shit outside of the Big 10, which is the most overrated conference in the country.

I hope two teams that are actually belong in the title game get there this year.

OSU fans, Remember this? "SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC,...."

OSU will win the B11 for the 3rd year in a row. A 3rd different SEC team will win the SEC in the same 3 years. If that SEC team can escape the regular season with <2 losses, the 2 teams will match up in the NC. The SEC will yet again prove that it's the superior conference by spanking OSU.

Speed kills!

no team in the Big 10 is any match for any team in the SEC, the competition that SEC teams face week in and week out makes them superior come the end of the season.

Exactly. That was THE most ridiculous call I've ever seen. Talk about stealing a national title from the Canes.

I personally think Georgia is the best team in the country this year. If they can escape their SEC schedule with 1 or maybe 2 losses, then I hope they end up in the title game. I don't see many teams hanging with them, and definitely not OSU. Going to be tough though, their SEC schedule is BRUTAL this year.

OSU came out and punched Miami in the mouth and they were not expecting it!!!
Now, we are MUCH better this year than last year.  IMO, Pryor should get a shot at starting or at least taking 30-40% of the snaps.  B/c we are going to need his athletic ability in the National Chanmpionship gme.

On point again Quaker, The Georgia Bulldogs this year are going to be incredible(if they can make it through their schedule), The Florida Gators once again will be atop the heap, and The Tennessee Volunteers may have the best team in the SEC this year, but no one knows it because they aren't getting coverage like the other two. When will the media learn what a farce the Buckeyes are, ESPN had them #1 in their preseason poll, I mean, WTF? USC will tear them a new one, no doubt about that. Get ready for a USC/SEC National Championship this year.
