Lets face it, nobody here wants to watch a female bodybuilding show like the Ms Olympia except for the few dozen competitors who are able to compete...
The IFBB should scrap Women's bodybuilding but keep fitness and figure, the federation probably just generate enough money to break even.
Its a joke and compromises the bodybuilding industry as a whole, even if they were marketed properly no sane woman would ever want to look like someone like Iris Kyle.

Eliminate.... or rebuild it. When muscular feminity be true feminity ( now is the same look like in men) . When a woman with muscles look like a woman, this is: hips, breast, and thin waist with big, muscular legs. In a not much ripped body... at least not as a man

Anja is Perfection.

Eliminate it, at both the professional and amateur levels. Bodybuilding is for men. Fitness/figure is for women. That's just the way it is. At the amateur shows I've been to, people get up and leave, or go to the lobby during the she-beast-with-breast-implants presentation. :-\

the ironic thing about this whole issue is that most women bbers want to be able to bodybuild so that they can be equal to men in a feminist kind of theory; but what is feminine about injecting male hormones into your body?
I agree that women should be allowed to bodybuild but when a women injects androgens and the only way to tell if you are looking at a man or woman on stage is whether or not they have a bikini top on; that is NOT good for anybody

figure and fitness competitors use androgens as well

I was always a very big fan of Cory Everson as a youngster. She was a regular in M&F when I was a 17 year old and was the main reason I brought the mag. Before you ask - yes I did. Many times.
Today’s beasts are transsexuals. There's no other word for them. They follow pretty much the opposite hormone regime to a male wanting to become a female. This does not make these girls men but it sure makes them trannies in my book.
BBing seems to be its own worst enemy. It's not like athletic sports where advances in science make people run faster, jump higher, throw further - in BBing science seems to be pushing people past what is aesthetically pleasing to all but an ever decreasing group of 'fans'.

you guys are just jealous that some women maintain their ability to be strong AND sexy at the same time.

There is something ironic about women attempting to be the best FEMALE bodybuilder they can be ... and using male hormones to do it. Competitive bodybuilding is, by extension, a masculine pursuit. The criteria for which the competitors are judged are amplified male traits.

Sorry, but, any man who is attracted to a female b has gay tendencies, imo...... How could a man be attracted to a "woman" that has the features of a man. Is that the whole point? These schmoes can be gay, without being gay?

The Truth.

Yeah let's kill female bodybuilding, it is the only part of the bodybuilding industry that is not respectable ::)

had one female bb at our show last year

Maybe we just need judges with criteries to bodybuild a true muscular woman, nor as now when woman must to bodybuild bodies to look like a man. Perhaps doping control was part of the solution (both, men and specially, women). Anyway I think the big problem is if still we want to mantein women bodybuilding alive.

Just bring it back to the late 80s-early 90s look. This means back off the heavy gear and train harder. The ones with the best genetics will rise to the top with minimum usage (i.e. Anja Langer or Laura Creavalle)
-
They should just drop female bodybuilding from the IFBB. If there is truly a market for pro females with their current look, then someone will create a Female BB federation to bring it back. If it dies, it might allow a few years to convince the IFBB to bring it back as something more akin to the Cory Everson and earlier era. With as few pro female BB contests as there are right now, it is only a matter of time before it dies.
The Ms. Olympia contest is held in the Exhibit hall right now (or was a year or two ago). It'll be held in the convention center lobby or parking lot soon. ;D

Their are new rules designed to bring back female bodybuilding to the level it should be... not over the edge like it is now. At the NPC USAs, you have a lot of women listen and bring it to that level, and then you had others that still think that muscularity should be above everything else, thus they were not rewarded for that thinking.
Cathy LeFrancois is one that brings it like it should be.
And Laura Creavalle was one of the best, one of the main reasons I started to watch female bodybuilding a long time ago. She should teach some of the newer competitors what needs to be done.

My girl just won her first (and last) bodybuilding contest. She just wanted to give it a whirl. I am proud to say she didn't and has never used drugs and hormones. Was she large? No. But she was an excellent example of what a talented and hard-training woman can achieve if she puts in the effort and time. Samantha is the epitome of female bodybuilding: muscular and strong but NOT masculine in any way, shape or form.
When drugs and hormones enter the equation (especially those derived from a testosterone base) it changes everything. For the worse.

There is only a problem.
A big problem...
When a woman doesn´t want to look like Ms Olympia, something was wrong with it, and it dies soon or later...And this happened too much time ago...
If woman bodybuilding wants to survive, this must be done.

Ron, sorry buddy, but even Cathy now shows signs of years of abuse. Reality is, women SHOULD NOT mess with androgens/male hormones. They should compete to the best of their abilities, naturally. Women were never intended to look like men, or shave their faces like one. Heck, most of these "females" have deeper voices than I do.

They should put the men and womens Olympia in the same line up....pt no pot one would be able to tell the difference anyway!
