You should not credit him with anything. Just watched several videos of him electrocuting and killing dogs, horses and elephants in public so he could scare people away from Tesla's Alternating Current so he could keep his DC alive. If he would have had his way and we used DC today, your electric bill would be your most expensive bill. And the fucker was basically the Bill Gates of the time. Most of the shit he didn't invent, he bought out other people and developed their work. Extraordinary scumbag.

Edison hired Tesla to improve his DC systems and promised 50,000 if he could. Tesla busted his ass long hours and and when done, that's where Edison said 50,000 was a joke and Telsa left. Now that is pure fucking scum.

The biography of Thomas Edison that most people studied in school was written by the public relations department of the General Electric company. Much as Walt Disney did not personally animate most of the cartoons released by his company, Thomas Edison didn't personally engineer most of the devices patented by his laboratory. However, he did provide the direction and initial spark (pun intended) that motivated his staff. That being said, I certainly would not want to work for the man.

You think it's fair to compare Gates to a man who killed animals to demonstrate how a competitors product isn't as good?
Fuck me, get a grip, Gate's isn't at all bad. I do think Gate's giving away almost his entire fortune is pretty sadistic tho ::)

civilization could not have become what it is right now without the use of electricity, we have everything to thank him for, he killed cats and dogs sure, but the pharmacy industry does much more horrible experiments right now so you can keep your hair spiky ;)

It was all cement from what I could see. He obviously didn't invent a very good filter system cause it was so green and dirty you could no way go in it. The garage was really cool. It had all kinds of really neat stuff that seemed to be untouched for 80 years. There is a big Banyan tree on the property too.

Was he better at marketing? No.

I agree with this.
He decided to go with the money rather than further the cause for humanity and help develop Telsa's out of this world genius. He was already pretty wealthy at this stage too which makes it all the more disgusting.
