WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Ted Stevens from Alaska, the longest serving U.S. Republican senator ever, was indicted on Tuesday on seven counts of making false statements, according to a federal grand jury indictment.
The U.S. Justice Department has scheduled a news conference for 1:20 p.m. to make an announcement "regarding a significant criminal matter."
A federal law enforcement official said the news conference would discuss the criminal charges against Stevens. The 28-page indictment outlining the charges against Stevens was released by the Justice Department right before the news conference.

Hopefully the IRS will get his sorry ass also. The republican party is so full of hypocritical liars that when another one is busted the neocons on this board don't even bother to comment. Well, the good news is that Obama wins another state. :)

Yeah John Edwards not hypocritical at all, preaching family values, and telling Americans to live moral lives....all the while cheating on his wife while she was going through the battle of her life with 2 young children at home, and a child born by a mistress.

Edwards was using his own money to bang his secret baby mama. He holds no public office and is a pvt citizen. He didn't break any law.
This dude, on the other hand, took a LOT of money to vote certain ways. That is ILLEGAL.

7 felony charges against this pillar of the republican party and you want to give him a pass because he is old. ::)
What is the neocon age limit for corruption in public office by a republican senator to be viewed as OK? ::)
