Title: Should the Post Office be abolished?
Post by: Hugo Chavez on July 30, 2008, 11:25:05 PM
Just wondering, it's kind of socialist isn't it?  Shouldn't we just end that shit and let the free market fill the gap?

Socialist or not, it is the 3rd-largest employer in the US.  It is also rather inefficient in many aspects.  One way in how it makes money is it mails out huge amounts of junk mail and various posters for business and corporations.  Everyday I have to dig through credit card offers and chinese food menus to get at my important mail.

At a minimum, I'd like to see the one in my neighborhood abolished!   >:(

Be patient, ...I'm sure there's a postal worker about to go postal any minute now.

The post office was used to expand and justify Federal control of interstate roads.  It will NEVER go away.
