Unfortunately our reigning Fitness Olympia champion Adela Garcia has sustained an injury (torn ACL) and won't be able to compete this year.

That is very sad news. I hope she recovers from this setback and comes back even stronger.  :'(

Hi friends,

I would like to thank you all for the encouraging words. This has been a very difficult road for me since this would have been my 8th Fitness Olympia. I guess my 8th will have to wait unit 2009. I must thank my best friend Elissa and J-bone for making sure I got my MRI done. Elissa is a figure competitor and a Dr. Her and her husband makes sure I got that MRI, so I owe her big time.

I was at the Dexter Jackson show in Jacksonville and just being around all of my friends and fans made me feel a whole lot better.

This is the time in life when you take a step back and humble yourself by realizing that being at the Olympia stage is an honor. Sometimes we get so caught up with placing and money without realizing how it feels to be an Olympia athlete. I have been blessed
in many ways in my fitness career and I am thankful everyday for everything that I have. Fitness has giving me a way of living and I will continue to do my job helping everyone with the desire to change their lifestyle.

Thank you for taking the time to write me and showing me some love. It really makes things easier. I would like to wish all the Olympia competitors the best of luck this year. I will be at the GNC booth and I will be keeping you all posted on my surgery and all the good stuff.

I am doing well.. walking without crutches and riding the bike. My surgery was last week. God is great and I can't be any happier at this moment because I am not sore yet..LOL until I go and to my stretches and my knee will be hurting a bit..LOL
