Title: Wal-Mart mobilizes against Democrats

Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT.N) is mobilizing U.S. store managers to lobby against Democrats in November's presidential election, fearing they will make it easier for workers to unionize, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

In recent weeks, thousands of Wal-Mart managers and department heads have been summoned to mandatory meetings at which the retailer stresses the downside for workers if store workers unionize, the paper said.

About a dozen employees who attended meetings in seven states said executives stressed employees would have to pay hefty union dues and get nothing in return, and might have to go on strike without compensation, and warned that unionization could force the company to cut jobs as labor costs rise, the Journal reported.

The Wal-Mart human-resources managers who have run the meetings didn't tell those attending how to vote in the November elections, but made it clear that voting for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, would be tantamount to inviting unions in, the Journals said.

Wal-Mart could not be reached immediately for a comment.

Yeah the free market sucks ::)

the free market is a myth

The US govt (therefore the US taxpayer/DEBTOR) always bails out the free market when it fails

private losses become SOCIALIZED

NeoCons are the worst kind of socialist

They privatize profits and socialize losses

Vs. socializing profits AND socializing losses?

They both suck.

Go start a business and see if the government will bail you out.

Your telling only fractional truths that are indeed disturbing.

So, if people are fat and someone does something about it, it's big brother. But, if it's a corporate thing, it's fine.  :)  You make me laugh.  Just like Beach Bum does. The passive aggressive theocratic. :)

I love your name!

No DeeDee...read my post again.

I am not for the government bailing anyone out UNLESS failing to do so would hurt MOST Americans.  I haven't supported that since Reagan let the Airlines know who the hell he was.

I hope always I have some measure of spirituality above Beach Bum's, as he has none.
