So thanks to Bodybuilding.com, Dan Solomon and the Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Radio show, I am going to go to the IFBB Tampa Pro show, or as we like to call it, the 2008 IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Championships in Tampa, Florida.
I am not sure if there was ever a pro bodybuilding event in Tampa, Florida so it should be nice and interesting in how the people react to such an event. I can’t seem to find any history on that. Promoter Tim Gardner has been very nice, and very accommodating in making sure that we will have access to great pics, and the athletes. There will also be an NPC Figure and Fitness show also in conjunction with this event.
On Friday, there will be a ‘Meet the Athletes’ at the Hyatt Regency’s Buccaneer Ballroom, around 6:00, just after the IFBB Meeting held for it’s competitors. It will be very nice to meet some of the 45 pro bodybuilders (and that is just the men) that will go on stage the following day.
Special awards for this weekend include the Inaugural Ben Weider Lifetime Acheivement Award, the Shawn Ray Best Presentation Award, the HR Fit Best Male Poser Award, the Best Female Poser Award, and the Tight Curves Award for the competitor with the most stage presence.
Prejudging begins at 9am Saturday morning, and the finals start at 6:30pm. Brandie Gardner will be the emcee of the show, with the exception of the IFBB Men’s Open, in which we will have Dan Solomon and Bob Cicherillo as the emcees.

Put Tarek ELSETOUHI in that list. This guy has some amazing size and symmetry and might be the big surprise of the show!
Dennis JAMES might have size, but he lost all his symmetry and usually comes without condition.

big ant you have good eye on bbing, and good build yourself, but this guy would not be pro if vinny didn't miss last yr due to being ill,and vinny had no sour grapes but vinny should have won that class in 07 his build was\is much more complete and balanced, yes anthony was rock hard but no flow.

Tony Freeman and Paul Baker rounding out the remainder top 5!
Until Paul Baker learns to actually diet and does more than 1 mile on the stationary bike in a total of 30 minutes, you can rule him out of the Top 5 anything. Except overpriced muscle worsh...... errr.... Feats Of Strength Displayed In Private.

I think so too. he is very well balanced and his back shots are fucken incredible.
-
Competition is on Saturday, the Athlete's Meeting is around 6pm EST here in Tampa on Friday. For the guys, there is a regular show, and also a 202lbs and under contest.
-
is this comp today?!
ARE THEY EVER NOT ON A SATURDAY ???
-
Sometimes the 202lb and Under show might be on a Friday, you never know?

Very True NJFLEX! But to be honest, Vinny did have Lymes disease last year while preparing, he was talking to me "I am always tired, shit maybe cause we are both 40" Vinny should of got his pro car many shows ago, but his dedication is always 100% and will make a great pro. Even in his amatuer days, he was still a Pro!
Yes, true again, Anthony was rock hard and shredded, wishing him the best in this show, but Vinny does have symmetry and is a hell of poser and has shape-size-hardness---kinda like a Lee Labradda of the future!
