How did you feel about the Flacco transfer?

I hope Michigan can be respectable this year and go from there.
they need to beat ND!

i thought nothing of it at the time because tyler palko was superior

flacco played well against 1AA competition, he couldn't hack it at pitt

My team will likely not win a National Championship, so....

I'm thinking USC will make it to a national championship game this year.

My UH Warriors open at the swamp.  Also play at Oregon State, at  Fresno, and at Boise.  Tough.

The O will probably struggle with the loss of June Jones, all four starting WRs, and Colt Brennan.

The D will be very good.  We have at least four guys who I think can play on Sundays:  LBs Adam Leonard, Solomon Elimimian, and Blaze Soares, and CB Ryan Mouton.

Boise should be a tough game for you guys, hell your here and we got a great team.. I think we might break the top ten, if we can squek by Fresno. I think that is the only thing that stops us from BCS bowl game status this year... Fuck I CANT WAIT TO BE IN THE NORTH END ZONE!!!!!!!

Yeah, I just saw that.  Who knows what will happen with the rapist but I'm sure he'll be back at some point.  If not, Carroll's back ups will likely not hurt him.

I'm hoping we at least tie SC for a share of the Pac-10 but who knows.

Fuck we got a gang of new recruits and a lot of the old guys back. we got all of our WR's back. Parretta and Jesse back. We were picked to win the WAC I guess? They had Fresno as the best on some and us on others? I can't wait till season hits, but they still haven't decided on a QB, I guess it is a pretty tight race.

We haven't picked a QB yet either.  Tyler Graunke, who was no. 2 behind Colt for three years, has really screwed up.  Has been suspended twice since the season ended.  Missed first week of camp.  We have two very good JC prospects battling with Inoki Funaki (no. 3 QB last year).  We're going to miss Colt.   :-\

I picked Georgia to win as soon as last season ended. If they avoid injuries, I'm predicting they'll escape their schedule with one SEC loss. My guess is that it will be at Auburn. They'll get through ASU and LSU might give them trouble. I'd say Tennessee and Florida would be games to watch out for, but I'm not on the Tenn. bandwagon yet and Georgia gets them both at home.

And of course UConn will go undefeated and win the national championship.

Some white kid whose name I can't remember right now. I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt and the fact that it's LSU. They're always gamers and usually have the defense and rb's to carry shitty qb's.

But yeah, that Perrilloux douche is at some D-1AA school now. Quite the waste of talent.

they shouls win it, theie 3 top foes will be AZ State, Oregon and Oregon State but with that defense with Mauluga, Cushing and Mays they should have no problems winning the Pac 10 if Sanchez is even 80 percent.

I can't believe Mal is even trying to put Pac-10 football in the same sentence as the Great SEC. Let USC play LSU,Auburn, Florida and Tennessee all in one year and see how they fair. Oh, BTW, Georgia plays all those teams this season. Who does USC got? Oregan? Oregan State? Those killers up at Stanford? Give me a break man, USC is a damn good team, but they suffer from over-hype syndrome. That team hasn't been the same since Ole Vince Young crushed their dreams of a 3-peat.

yeah the highest i've seen Missouri ranked is #4 by Sports Illustrated but IMO before they can start talking about a nat. championship they have to beat Oklahoma and win their conference, their only two losses last season were both to Oklahoma so beating them needs to be their first goal for this season, you can never take Tennessee lightly especially in Knoxville, if they don't at least get third in the SEC east this year Fulmer is probably gone, the SEC is insane this year, 4 fuccking teams who could legitimitely win a national championship, crazy.

Yeah, I thought Elmer Fudd(Fulmer) would get the boot last year, but they actually signed him to an extension, so he will be at UT for a while still. The only bad thing about the SEC is that the teams are so good that they end up beating the crap out of each other, pick up a loss or two, and have a harder time making the Title Game. Remember LSU had two losses last year but still got the nod, those computers seem to like those tough schedules. I just hope the Buckeyes don't make it, enough is enough. I wanna see USC and Georgia so the Pac-10/SEC feud can be settled once and for all.

last year before Dixon got hurt Oregon would have played for the national championship. Zona State is gonna beat uga this season. Stafford QB isnt as good as you think but moreno might be best rb in nation...Watch the pac 10 this year...Washington has a tough out of conference schedule and their QB  might be the second best behind Tebow.

And dont even bring Oklahoma into the mix...they are trash when it counts. Remember 2004. Big 12 absolutley is the most overrated conference in the nation..

Georgia has been a powerhouse for a good 5-6 years now. Just because you don't play for the National Championship game every other year doesn't mean you are not a powerhouse. And they ARE on USC's level...don't kid yourself Mal, the Pac-10 is a good conference, but not comparable to the SEC. Admit it, give USC  Florida, LSU, Auburn and Tennessee all in the same year with two of those games on the road and a few back to back, and you have to say they would lose at a minimum one of those games maybe two. USC has the gift of PR and a relatively soft schedule, which equals ESPN darlings and a higher rating than deserved(remember Stanford)? Have you ever been to the Swamp, Neyland Stadium or between the Hedges on a Saturday in the Fall? It's unreal man, these fans are rabid and make the most hardcoe NFL teams fans seem tame. Not trying to diss your team, but USC fans wear the blinders sometimes. We'll see this Fall, getting excited man. Screw the NFL, college ball is where its at! :)

If Texas Tech could build a defense that could get just three or four stops a game, then they would be a BCS contender every year.
yeah but they cant ever get the size to compete with OU or UT...they have gimmick offense that works...

Texas Tech has been getting some good press as an up and coming team.
Graham Harrell is a stud but like BF said the don't have any defense.

Some teams that are listed as sleepers, won't contend for the championship but have a chance at good records.

Ball State, good QB in Nate Davies.

East Carolina,2 tough games,V-tech and W Virginia.

Utah, first game at Michigan,BYU at home.

Fresno State,2 tough games,Wisconsin,UCLA.

BYU,hasn't lost a game in their division in two years.

Central Michigan.QB Dan LeFavor rushed for over a 1,000 yards and passed for over 3,000 last year :o
but they play Georgia and Purdue this year.

they should win the Big East but Pitt is also coming on strong and has some confidence after beating them last season, that linebacker that Pitt has McKillop is very good.

i definitely see him winning it again, he won't run for as many TD's as he did last season but he should throw for at least 35 TD's, Wells at OSU and Chase Daniel at Missouri are also ones to watch.

How do you think Tebow will do in the NFL? He is great in college, but Florida has had a few great quarterbacks the past 15 years or so who all fizzle in the big leagues? It's like that system only works in college and no where else.

the thing i see helping him is that he's big, strong and fairly mobile, Chris Leak and guys like Danny Weurffel didn't really have his tools, only time will tell in the next few years what Grossman will do but he hasn't done much so far with the Bears.

LSU is ranked high considering they lost Dorsey,SS-Greig Steltz, and LB-Ali Highsmith.
Don't forget they also lost their D-coordinator Pellini.

Texas should be better this year than last year, Colt McCoy has some guys to throw to down there, i think they could be Missouri's only loss of the regular season since they play in Austin.

Ah haa..i keep forgetting about him i like him too.But Chase is the best to me right now.Even though he dosent have the flat out arm strength as Stafford, he is a better overall QB for todays football. everyone knows USC is great but the two teams to watch this season are Oklahoma and ESPECIALLY Clemson, they've got too many tools to not go extremely far, that backfield with James Davis and C.J. Spiller plus Cullen Harper at QB is incredible plus they're very good defensively.

I bought that package a couple of years ago. Its okay, you get to see a couple of good games that the major network aren't carrying, but they also show alot of no name games as filler. I believe if you buy it, you may get a discount on the NFL Sunday ticket, at least thats what Direct TV did for me last year.

Pure marketing and $$$ driven.

How can Hawaii be 12-0, and not be in the championship game?

I, for one, an sick of seeing the same 6-8 teams in the January games every damn year.

Why is it that Boise State can be 10-2 and not have a SINGLE game televised all year, and Notre Dame can be 3-10 and every damn one of their games is on NBC?

as for Notre Dame being on NBC it's a contract deal with NBC and just because a team goes through a few weak seasons doesn't mean they've always been that way, comparing Boise State or Hawaii to Notre Dame is ridiculous, they're are quite a few perennial powerhouses going through down times right now, Nebraska, Miami, Michigan, UCLA, etc. but they're histories speak for themselves.

No, it's because the executive VP of NBC is a Notre Dame grad.

And so the networks feel the need to fellate the major team in certian confrences even if they suck, eh?

yep, blowouts across the board this week as i expected, i actually had Utah beating Michigan so that one worked out for me, watch out for Utah, they could be a spoiler team this year, the rest of their schedule lines up fairly well for them, definitely didn't have Bowling Green beating Pitt or East Carolina beating Va. Stewartr has been there for like 20 years so i would say that he knows what he is doing. If our defense gets their shit together we should be able to go undefeated. Well, hats off to the Pac-10. The Tennessee underachievers are back again. I'll say this though, why in the hell do you pass for 3 downs with a quarterback who is not on the money when you can run the ball at will? UT did this all night, pass,pass,pass..incomplete,incomplete,incomplete. Run the ball every other series, gain 4-7 yards a pop, and pass with an incompletion again. HORRIBLE OFFENSIVE PLAY CALLING!HORRIBLE!

You fuckin suck...look at it on the bright side...last year tenn lost to cal bears (got fucked up) and they won sec east...Oh shit the year before that USC destroyed Ark and the Razorbacks won SEC west. So maybe since Tenn got embarassed by UCLA (UCLA picked 6 in the pac 10) they might win SEC east again. BCS national Chumps. LSU would get killed by USC. Thats why LSU wont play So Cal. We all know that USC would be glad to play LSU....

Tenn was ranked 18 ucla was picked to finish 6 in pac 10...they had no business going to OT and loosing in the first place...The qb was 3 string, and threw 4 pics in the first half.

BTW...Chase Daniels=Heisman (barring injury) he looked awesome against a good UI team

yeah i sort of agree about Chase, only he could be overtaken by a guy on his own team in Jeremy Maclin, the guy had 230 all purpose yards easier than most guys get 50, i've seen UCLA ranked as high as 26th so there not as bad a team as people think, Neuheisel gives them a great recruitment tool, i have to admit that USC looked amazing on Saturday, Sanchez looks like he has a rifle for an arm.

We lost the game, out of conference, so, we move on and try to do well the rest of the season. Like I said, my hats off to the Pac-10. But you are dumber than I thought if you think USC would own LSU,Florida and Georgia, beat them maybe, kill them, hell no. You guys down there die by your own hype every year. Remember Stanford last year? Remember when you had Bush, Leinart and Lindale White, and one man, Vince Young, beat you by himself? You guys will choke sooner or later. Were you even a fan before the Pete Carroll era? Or just a mindless bandwagon member like the rest of the fans in So Cal? Eras don't last forever and it will be fun to watch the cockroaches scatter when Carrol leaves that team ;)

LSU is gonna kill em.I just added that because Troy state has put out 2 pro bowlers in the last few years.
Osi Umenyoura
Demarcus Ware
a kicker in Lawrence Tynes{game winner against Green Bay in the NFC championship}
plus the 11 pick in this years draft-Leodis McKlevin.

Navy's running back,Shun White had 19 carries for 348 yards last week and Ball States qb,Nate Davis went 21 for 24,290 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Look here chief...I forgot more about college football than you will ever know cha cha. And I have been a fan of USC since I was a kid...I lived about 3 min from the school suzy. All this SEC bullshit I hear kills me. Just because the media said your good that means your good? Just because thats all there is to do in Tuscalusa, Athens, Baton Rouge etc...and yall say "football is life"  dosent mean youre the best at it, Right now USC is the best team in the nation. And Overall the best team since 2002 (between them and Ohio State. They Schedule real schools from the BCS Confrences while LSU and UGA schedule Junior Varsity teams. And when someone comes from the SEC to play a Pac 10 School they loose...(and then win the sec east or west) . It kills me...Sec has like 12 schools and 3 of them are any good. The SEC also has Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Miss State, Kentucky, South Carolina, Ark (they remember usc)...Those teams suck. Middle of the Road teams Bama, Aub, and Tenn. Im not saying that they arent a good conference but they arent head and shoulders above the rest of the nation when it comes to football.

The line last year was that the colleges don't want to play during second semester.

I think it's all a money game. A 9-3 Ohio State or Michigan team is going to have a bigger draw than a 12-0 Boise State or 11-1 Colorado.

Or maybe the BCS confrences don't want the chance of an upset happening....

Agree to disagree. Let the season play itself out and hopefully we will have a USC/SEC BCS National Championship if everything plays out right. You guys still have to get through an Ohio State team that looks alot tougher than previous years. I hope you guys do win just so the two conferences can settle it on the field. I'm picking Florida/USC right now for the title. USC should have it locked up on there part and Florida has the most talent in the SEC IMHO. I'm sure we will argue alot over the next 4 months ;)

Does anyone remember the thread earlier this year that said Tim Tebow could bench 455? I know Quaker has to remember it. ESPN College Gameday just had a little segment on Tebow in the weight room lifting.  They never showed him benching just doing some Hammer strength stuff and drills on the field. But after seeing what I saw, I can say with confidence there is no way in hell that dude benches 455, much less 455 as a Senior in highschool. Maybe it will be on youtube later.

dude you read my mind, i was gonna start a thread on it, that dude used to meltdown when i said Tebow couldn't bench 455 and it showed him doing two arm Hammer Strength rows with 4 plates on each side, struggling with 2 plates on each side of the Hammer Strength Incline Press and high pulls with 155, also some leg presses with 6 plates per side.

Give Miami another year or two and its going to be like it was in the early nintie's with that program. You could see A LOT of potential on both sides of the ball. Tebow didn't look as comfortable last night as he did last year, and Florida didn't impress me as much as I thought they would. I may have to change my BCS NC pick, we'll see......

They have a great D every year, but there Offense is always suspect. If a team can score on them and keep scoring, their offense can't keep up sometimes.
On another note, whats everyones take on Ohio State and USC this weekend? After watching both play, I think USC should beat the snot out of them , especially with how OU looked AT HOME against Ohio. But if Beenie Wells is back running, you never know.

yeah a lot of it depends on Chris Wells, if he plays they have a chance but if he's out forget about it, that USC defense is brutal, you've got at least 4 guys on that defense who could be first day NFL draft picks.

They have a good chance at running the table in their conference which would hopefully set them up with a good bowl.

right now it is because they both suck ass at the moment but it'll pick up, programs like that don't stay down for long, the Nebraska's, the Michigan's, the Miami's, etc. never stay down long due to their tradition and recruiting.

ND is just bad...zero bright spots...just all bad.

Not sure if anyone has posted this information already, but there's a schedule of all the major conferences involved in the bowl games series on the web.  I would try to attached it, but it's about 1mb and the Getbig limit is 300kb.  Enjoy!   ;D

Great story I read yesterday.

3 years ago Greg Billinger was on his way home from a recruiting trip from Vandy.
on the way home his car blew a tire and flipped numerous times.he was airlifted back to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
he suffered 10 broken bones in his back,a separated shoulder, and 2 bruised lungs.

last Saturday in Vandy's upset over S.Carolina,Billinger a Dlineman had 6 tackles,2 sacks,2 tackles for a loss,and blocked a field goal attempt!

cool stuff :)

yeah i agree, like i said before USC has at least 4 guys on that defense who are legit first day draft picks, Mauluga and Cushing are a little beat up but they should be ok, OSU is going to run Boeckman out of the shotgun a lot and Wells probably won't be 100 percent, it would be interesting to see Terrell Pryor out there with his mobility, i'm impressed so far with Sanchez, that kid has a rifle arm.

Sapp sure is one to talk. The Miami era when he was there was the definition of classless. The excessive celebration rule came about because in part of Miami's excessive showboating after scoring. Sapp blindsided an OL from Green Bay years ago after an interception far away from the play and knocked the guy out for the season. Dude is a joke, sucked as a Raider to.

I saw it on ESPN. He took it like a Champ though, and in the rain at that. He even made the post game news conference. On another note, USC and Ohio State in about 10 minutes. I hope OSU shows up just for the sake of a good game. Those dudes would probably try to jump out of the plane on the way home if they get thumped again by a powerhouse school.

i don't know man, OU has a lot of weapons, Sam Bradford, two very good RB's in Demarco Murray and Chris Brown, two pretty good recievers in Iglesias and Broyles, Gresham is a legit first day draft TE and they're defensive line is great, they're a little weak at LB but OU could be Mizzou's only loss if the both get to the Big 12 championship, it's bullshit that the Big 12 has a championship game and a couple of other conferences don't but you could be right about Mizzou.

that's interesting because i was thinking the same thing only i had Florida running the table instead of Bama along with OU and USC, as crazy as it sounds and as GREAT a team as USC is they could be left out of the national title game due to the weakness of their schedule within the Pac-10, the only thing that could save them is destroying Ohio State like they did.

well what i think is that they need to EITHER HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME FOR EVERY CONFERENCE OR DON'T HAVE ANY AT ALL, sick of this bullshit of the Big 12, SEC and Big East having a championship and the Pac-10 and Big 10 not having one, on the UF vs. Bama issue i don't think Bama has the experience to beat The Gators even if Bama was to get to the SEC champ. game, i still think it will be LSU vs. Florida.

I was watching "Top 5 Reasons you can't blame" on ESPN, and the subject was reasons you can't blame college football for not having a playoff. A couple of reasons surprised me. One was, some coaches didn't want one, because it would mean only one school has the chance to be the best. Where, if you kept the bowl system, as long as you win, you are at least a winner in that bowl game. Another was the money the bowls brought in and the coaches also didn't want to make the season longer. They also said, they couldn't see fans making travel arrangements and following the team on a week to week basis.  All those seemed weak to me. You would think they could still have a playoff, just cut one game from the regular season and leave the bowls in place, just as part of a playoff system. Teams could actually make a lot more money if their team is good enough. I really don't think it will ever happen, at least not as long as you have the 70 year old University Presidents and old school AD's stuck in decades of tradition.

Last year, didn't the #1 team lose like 6 or 7 different weeks? LSU had 2 losses and still got in,so I totally agree with that. If USC goes undefeated the rest of the year and the big boys all drop one along the way, you can bet money they will be back in there. Thursday night football on ESPN is a curse for away teams, has been for years.

Exactly, when you add in the fact that the SEC and the Big 10 have championship games it could add up to a few teams having at least 1 loss and still be in the mix for the championship.

yeah the problem is that LSU or any other SEC team can lose 2 games and still get in due to the strength of the SEC and so many teams in the conference being ranked high.

Yeah, #1 was dropping left and right. The problem is that the Pac-10 is awful this year. USC is the only ranked team right now. So, unlike LSU, they don't have any more chances to really prove who they are. LSU was playing a top 25 team pretty much every week, and their losses came to good SEC teams, not Oregon State, who looked like the worst team in the country last week.

That being said, I think USC is a top 5 team, but not the best.

USC is still a good team they just got beat by EXACTLY the right guy in that 5'6" running back, that USC defense is very big and powerful but they just didn't have any idea how to contain that kid, you could see the frustration in those Trojan LB's and DB's.

I'm real interested to see how the Georgia and Bama games plays out this weekend. I think Bama, even though being ranked in the Top 10, is the real sleeper team in the SEC that has a damn good shot of being there at the end. Everybody is talking about Georgia,Florida and LSU in the SEC, and kinda forgetting about Bama. One thing that sucks about the SEC though, is even if you beat a conference foe in the regular season, you still may have to beat them again in the SEC title game.

Bama is playing tremendously on defense, they've got a couple of big play defensive backs and an absolute monster nose tackle clogging up the middle at 6'5" 370 pounds, Coffey is running the ball well for them too which is what they needed along with Julio Jones.

another crazy week in CF, Georgia destroyed by Bama especially in the first half, Florida losing at home to Ole Miss, Wisconsin losing to Michigan, looks like Okalahoma will go up to #1 with their blowout of TCU.

Yep, starting to look like last year all over again. I tell you what, college football has changed alot in the last 10 years. The teams used to have a pretty good feeling who they should beat just by looking at the schedule, not so much anymore.

All Nick Saban, dude is one hell of a coach. Two years in and competeing for the NC. I got a feeling they may meltdown later this year at LSU, especially if its a night game.

No real stand out games this week.

Ohio State vs Wisconsin
Oregon vs USC
Auburn vs Vandy

nice win for the Uconn Huskies vs Louisville the other night.did it with their back up QB.
Edsall is a good coach and trying to make them a "known" team.
up next is a real tough game for them against NC.

and I gotta give props to Texas,Colt McCoy is a damn good QB.did anyone see that TD run of his last week :o good stuff.
I think they play Oklahoma next week!

yep both OU and Texas are playing lights out right now, can't think of two better QB's going up against each other right now, i think that will be on Primetime on Saturday night too, Texas has Mizzou the week after as well, Chase Daniel said in the post game press conference that a Nebraska player spit on him before the game and that Nebraska is the dirtiest team he's ever played.

Mizzou is my homestate team but i'm still not sold on them, they can put up points on anyone but their defense isn't very good, they have a pretty weak schedule with the exception of Texas and Oklahoma State.

I really don't think Elmer Fudd is going anywhere. UT has the good ole boy system in full effect, and he's big buddies with the AD. People on Rocky Top have been calling for his head, but they have been for a few years now. But, if they lose today, against Bama and Vandy and or Kentucky, he will probably get the boot. Thats just too much for the boosters to handle I hope.

They look as good as anybody and they get hardly any love from the Press. It hasn't been as wild as last year, but this is about the time last year that everybody in the Top 5 started going down, looks like it could be deja vu.

We just beat Nevada.  Great game.  That Nevada QB is a freak.  That kid is 6'6" and runs a 4.5.  Fastest tall guy I've ever seen.  He had a 60 yard TD run against us.  Ran for 240-something yards against UNLV.  Doesn't have a great arm, but he doesn't really need one given how great he can run.  He's sort of like a Tebow threat, but ten times faster.

Have you guys played Nevada yet?

yep that's the only thing that beats Oklahoma is themselves, when they show up bored and lifeless they get beat, it happened twice last year in Colorado and against West Virginia in their bowl game, when they're on their game they're almost unbeatable especially at home, they have so many damn weapons it's almost sickening, Bradford, Iglesias, Johnson, Gresham, Broyles, Chaney and Demarco Murray and Chris Brown in the backfield, the best O line in CF and one of the best defensive lines in the game, crazy.

Title: QUAKEROATS COLLEGE FOOTBALL- RIVAL WEEK
Post by: Devon97 on November 23, 2008, 06:54:21 PM
OU EXPOSED TT

LSU got torn up by Ole Siss

Or St needs 1 more win for ROSE BOWL BIRTH!

The "U" got shreaded up by GaTech for 465 yards rushing!

This weeks comming games:

BAMA vs AU

UGA vs GaTech

UF vs FSU

Will Mizzu beat UT in the Chamionship game?

Will BAMA beat UF in the SEC Championship game?

I think Florida beats Alabama in the SEC championship and then goes on to win the Orange Bowl.

again...lsu got f##ked when perq failed a drug test, got dismissed from the team.  rotating freshman qbs in the sec is a recipe for self destruction.

bama off can be hot or cold.  they go cold with fl for 1 qtr...and they dont move up/down the field good enough to play catch.  fast field in atl favors fl.

if tx and fl somehow survive...i dont see tx staying w/these guys.  fl will stop that trap running game of tx and keep them in 3rd and long all night.

would prefer usc vs penn state in the rose bowl...just a better game.  oregon st mini-me qb aint going to cut it against penn state

bama vs osu in the sugar bowl would be another nice match.  see how pryor/bean bag run against a jacked sec team

btw...not dissing ole miss.  they could beat anyone in the top 25 at home expect for usc and the top sec teams.  good squad this yr. better than any of the eli manning squads.

anybody but USC!!!

USC would have 3 losses if they played in the SEC.

Sugar Bowl will be Loser of SECCG vs UTAH

no offense man because BSU is a good football team but if they played in the SEC or Big 12 they would have 5 wins max.

That's what everyone says, yet when they said that about us vs. stoops and his squad what happened? I know the toll would kill them game in and game out, but I think if we played in a bigger conf. then the guys on our team would be much bigger and we would do just fine.. I would love to see them vs. Ohio st. this year or USC! Fuck I say lets see what happens. Petersen is a genius of a coach and his players leave it all on the field... I GUESS EVERY SCOUT FOR 3 OF THE BOWLS WILL BE IN BOISE ON FRIDAY.. MY FINGERS ARE STILL CROSSED.

Its been a while since I posted in this thread, and it looks like CFB has once again gone right back to not knowing what to do and hoping for the best ( as far as the BCS Championship goes). You gotta figure the Bama/Florida winner is going, but who do they face? With the clusterf*ck in the Big-12 right now, a handful of 1 loss teams and no loss teams in weaker conferences, if this season isn't enough reason for a playoff, I don't know what is.

And my beloved UT Vols finally fired Fat Phil, and are bringing in Lane Kiffin it looks like. Who knows how that will go. But the word around the campfire is that he is bringing Daddy(Monte Kiffin) from the vaunted Tampa Bay Bucs Defense to be his DC at UT. They have both said they wanted to Coach together before Monte gets to old. Now if that is true, next year should be pretty interesting.

Okay sorry for the meltdown.

Maybe not.  They had reps from several "BCS" bowl games at the Fresno game.  They should definitely take Boise over Ohio State.

But the whole system stinks.  Settle it on the field.  All conference winners, plus an independent in a playoff.  Problem solved.
