Title: UFC 87 Spoilers....
Post by: MindSpin on August 10, 2008, 07:53:19 AM
GSP once again proves he is THE MAN!!!!  That fight lived up to my expectations :D  Love watching the guy fight.  Amazing how fast he is!!  Fitch is a warrior with a giant heart.  He took everything GSP had and still could not be finished.  Fucking awesome.

I was surprised to see Huerta get exposed by Florian.  I thought Huerta would dominate this fight.  These guys cancelled each other out and made for a less exciting fight than I expecteed.

I was also surprised to see Heath lose to Lesnar.  The Heavyweight division is so weak, that if Lesnar continues to improve, he could very well end up with a belt.

Manny getting KTFO by Emerson was another shoker.  Beautiful KO....

I was surprised by the Huerta fight the most. I figured he would walk right through K-Flo.

Heath is too far past his prime. He just needs to keep showing up for his pay checks but he's long past being a contender or even a factor. He's a good gatekeeper, though.

I guess you're right.  I figured a guy with his experience, who has fought the best, could edge out a win over a guy with a hanful of fights.  He's only 30, but he looks like he is 40....

I picked Lesnar but I figured Heath had it in him to take it. You're right, though. With that much experience, he should have been able to just use his technique to win that fight.

I think he's taken the CroCop approach. Just really doesn't care anymore and is only showing up for a paycheck.

I disagreed from the begining.  Huerta has been handed cans because Dana knows that fans like his persona and wanted to boost his record and confidence by a string of wins.  Clay was handing him his ass until he pulled off that knee.  Florian had been dominant in all his fights with the only exception being a juiced up Sherk.  Kenny just welcomed him into the neighborhood of top tier lightweights.  Good to see you, Roger...

Herring just pulled a decision out of Kongo, impressive, and everyone is forgetting that he damn near knocked Nog out with that head kick.  He's never been the best in the world, but he is a good fighter and Lesnar threw him around like a welterweight. I think it cheapens Lesnars win to make it seem like Herring is a can, because he isn't.  He's legit and if he had beat Lesnar no one would have blinked.  But he didn't, he got handled jail style.

Manny getting KTFO'd was awesome.  I don't dislike Manny but I think it was foolish to come out like he did, and the crazy part is that I think he would have earned a win had he not gotten caught like that.

Agreed I knew K-flo would own Roger, Roger is not that impresive. K-flo always shows up... As for Lesner he is way to strong, the guy is one big muscle. He might not be the best skilled, but like I have always said, how good can you do JJ when your getting punched in the face HARD! Plus Brock is huge, it's going to be tough to over power pur power. As for Manny, that was a complete shock. I figured Manny would get it to the ground quick and just dominate... guess that didn't happen huh?
