Ok all besides Penn who is more then likely GSP's next opponent (nothing officially signed yet)? And after the way he beat Fitch who in the WW division is going to come close to beating him?
I am really interested to hear everyones thoughts on who and why they think that person woudl beat GSP...

I don't know about a victory, but Jake Sheilds would be a great fight. Eddie Alvarez if he got to 170, maybe Shinya Aoki. Thiago Alves is the next logical opponent in the UFC welterweight division, even though his last loss was to Fitch. I think he would put on a good show, he's strong as a bull.

dunno but i think penn is next, early 2009?

Yea Penn is the next opponent barring anything crazy happening but I am strictly talking about WW's Penn is basically coming up a weight class...

Jake Shields would be an excellent opponent but seeing he is fighting for Elite that really is not an option unfortunately. T Alves is a logical fight for him. Do you think he gets a shot before D Sanchez? Not saying Diego beats him just getting thoughts if you thinks Alves is higher up ranking then Diego "Dirty" Sanchez is?

I don't know. Diego was beaten twice in a row, first by Koscheck then by Fitch, and GSP made both of them look pretty bad. It's going to be tough to find an oppnent that hasn't been beaten by Fitch, and GSP simply destroyed him.
I think both GSP and BJ will have at least one fight each before they fight each other. I really want to see BJ and Kenny. It's the only real test left for him at 155.

BJ has won the welterweight belt previously. Florian will not be a test for BJ. Last time Kenny was out in Hilo to train, BJ pwned him continuously. BJ needs to move to WW to stay.

Maybe they can get Rich Franklin to drop down from 185 to 170 to fight GSP. j/k

That is funny... I think Rich would have to cut off one of his legs to make 170.....

Cung Le is a really small MW, I think he could make 170. However, Le and GSP at a catchweight of 175 pounds would be a great fight.

:D And Cung Le would be a tremendous challenge for GSP. He is fourth on my personal P4P ranking.
