Sailing, Football, Tennis, Hockey, Equestrian etc
Unless the olympics is the absolute pinnacle of the sport as in athletics, weightlifting swimming events should not be in it. Takes away from the spectacle of it if the olympics is the 5th or 6 most important tournament in a sports calendar

Events like water polo, archery and don't get me started on the shooting.

If you can wear a watch whilst performing the activity: it means it's not a sport and, therefore, should not be in the Olympics.

What would the ancient greeks think of sailing, shooting and equestrian as a sign of athletic prowess?

i was on the US shooting team from 13 until i was 19 and i completely agree with this statement.

modern pentathalon
synchronised swimming
all canoe stuff too should be fucked out

Many of the sports you think are irrelevant are extremely revered in other countries e.g. Judo in France and Handball in Sweden

I acknowledge judo as a sport as do i acknowledge taekwondo
I actually know the world senior judo bronze medalist. Trains in my gym. Goes to france all the time.
Handball is also a nation sport of ireland.
The ones i mentioned are inted shit and not really sports...more pastimes

Haha, yes I once politely pointed out to someone who was a competitive equestrian, that I think like running a marathon is harder than riding a horse and they melted beyond all belief on me.

I've actually had people tell me they gained weight because they stopped working out. And to them working out was horseback riding. ::)

Fotball is not big in the USA as it has lots of other sports hich recieve as much attention etc. If it aint big in US is bullshit. Weightlifting...the USA hardly cleaned up in that.
