...I placed badly in a show (2nd, thought I deserved 1st), and developed a sour attitude. Never behaved this way before.

Anyone here ever develop an uncahracteristic bad attitude...or even care to admit to it?

There was only two guys in my class....so yes, I got last.

you forgot to say what sport you were competing in,i presume swimming,most swimmers have short hair, something to do with drag.maybe you heard this too but took it out of context and thought you had to look like a bird

i don't think it is a bad thread. i had a bad placing once and was so embarrassed that i sat in the restroom for like an hr before I came out to see friends and family. i guess i didn't want to hear i got screwed by the judges because i know i got beat by a better competitor. to my surprise my friends said you got beat by a better competitor and that stung, lol, but i still enjoyed my dinner with my friends and family. until i loose the Olympia by one point I'm not gonna get pissed so it looks like i will be happy a long time.

sometimes your the bat other times your the ball at least you had the guts to show up. 2 competitors sounds about right the other 200 men were in the fifth row talking about how bad you looked. second is the first looser isn't always true. second qualifies you for the nationals where you could win a pro card and this has happend to a friend of mine or sometimes its about the qualification or trying something different to not remain the same. sometimes it works sometimes backfires, live and learn and at least you made the show.

i am positive like that because i have worked hard to get to where i am at. i know what it feels like to loose and i have never forgotten what it feels like to give it your all and fail. i am positive because i have to push myself to better myself nothing comes easy for me and if i get sad and stumble i will get lost in the callouts. i stay up so i can build confidence to achieve my goals. winning breads winning. shitty attitudes find eachother and misery loves company..

im very interested in the back in the day stuff.......this guy has spent time with the great robby robinson back in the fuckin 70s.....and god knows who else
looks like Mike has almost as many stories to tell as Keith (onlyme)
except Mike was a bodybuilder and was in the thick of things with some legends during the golden era.....

I told moose once that i don't think it is a good idea for competitors to wear suits and he jumped all over me. I didn't blame him I blame all the people who talk smack because he thought I was another one of those people. I would like to learn and hear more of what he has to say. Will I agree with all of it, no but I will take what I can and apply it to my training and learn and grow. We are not all haters here. Projection- its a psychology term it means when deep down you hate yourself so you feel the need to beast on others. We all should just try to improve ourselves because in the end thats all we really want is to be better at what it is we love and hold dear.

Awesome! My wife is a Lt. with the MDOC and teaches leadership training I meet her at the MSP post while I was an FTO running an academy for future recruits. I guess leadership is all around me. I need it because I am human and get down too but I cant for too long because I have titles to defend and new ones to obtain. I have my own problems so I stay positive and wish others luck. It doesn't hurt me any.

My photographer usually followes me around all day and m,ost of the picks are not posed.
I may have never seen this pic till bthe other day..I was surprised bc I said, "That';s not me"...but then I recalled how pissed I was at that show....in retrospect...the kid deserved to beat me.

Actually, recently, I had to advise the kid who was entering the Mr. CT to shave his afro...it was huge and took away from his width...he got pissed at me, but did it and won the show.
